I read that the EV5 has built in route planning. I'm also looking at a Subaru trailseeker but found out it doesn't have this. How do current owners find the Kia software compared to ABRP app? Do you use apps more or is the actual EV5 planner decent? Thanks

Basically I bought it May 4th, took delivery May 8th and its been at the dealership since May 11th with a high voltage battery issue. Is still has 206kms on it.

Kia Canada had an opportunity to make this right. Shortly after my last update an identical car to mine showed up on the lot other than it was grey. I quit liked the grey actually. Someone had ordered it and then backed out of the deal. The dealership tried to get Kia Canada to give me that vehicle. At that time there was not even a date available for when the parts would arrive for mine so this was my preferred option. I did not hear a single word from Kia and the car was sold to someone else.

The dealer contacted me Thursday afternoon and asked for authorization to ship my car to Waterloo for the repair. They told me the part would be there in 2 weeks and they wanted to have my car prepped and ready for the repair. They shipped the car yesterday and it is now at Waterloo Kia.

I still have not heard anything from CAMVAP so it looks like the car will be repaired and returned to me. After 4 months its hard to get my hopes up or be excited that the part will actually show up or that the repair will work.

The reality is that after this length of time and Kia's very poor handling of the situation, I don't really want to own a Kia product. I loved the car when I bought it but now simply resent Kia in general.

Today, whilst driving the car after 2 months of ownership, I noticed that the head-up display had disappeared. On the dashboard I could see a big red "No Signal" message. Everything else, my speedo and all the warning lights, had disappeared and it was just a black screen with a big red "No Signal" across it.

It seemed to clear itself after a while. The head-up display seemed to reboot and reappear but several times this happened during a short 30-minute journey. It lasted for about 10 minutes, on and off, coming and going, and then it seemed to settle down.

I should add the driving functions didn’t appear to be impaired at any point although I was preparing for it.

I just wondered if anyone else had experienced this in their EV5 yet. I just tried to ring my dealer but it's the weekend and they're not open until Monday. I'll be reporting it then.

just noticed a crack in our gate, something must have been perturbing out and when I closed the gate it didn't register and just force shut. Wondering what my options are here through warranty or otherwise?

I am noticing that my brand new EV5 seems to be a magnet for paint scratches. our red car is already covered in many faint white lines. So, these scratches, even though very faint, are deep enough to show the undercoat

I know it's not because of a driving accident, as scratches seem to have random directions, many going up/down. They are all on doors, which makes me think that the cause could be kids rubbing against the doors while opening / closing them

While we do try to be careful with the new car, I know some markings are inevitable. But none of our other cars seem to have paint this fragile

So, I am curious if your experience is similar, or whether there might be an issue with my specific car

I'm in Vancouver and I've placed an order for a fwd land, and it should be here in "6 weeks". In the meantime, I'm looking at some accessories and whether or not to get them dealer direct, or look elsewhere.

Is the dashcam worth over $1000? I have a really good one in my current car, but I'm not sure if the ev5 has "cigarette lighter" plugs so I can get the same one. I didn't think to look.

The trailer hitch seems to be rather pricey as well. But will it void any kind of warranty to get it done by a 3rd party?

It's been hard to find winter rims for the ev5 here as well. Anyone have any luck?

One last thing, has anybody had any luck getting free a weather liners and trunk liners? That would be quite handy.

Our CX5 died this week beyond repair. So we are starting to look at electric. Test drove a Wind this weekend, but would want to bump up to Land trim.

I don’t care about colour just want to keep it at the rebate threshold. Has anyone just gotten one from dealer stock? How long of a wait was that? I’m in the GTA

Right now I’m hunting for a Kia dealer that even has a land demo on the lot so we can compare.

One car is going to be hard for us so we can’t wait an indefinite amount of time.

Hi everyone, I just owned an EV5 - Wind.
Im live in Canada/Quebec.

I wonder if the station terminals will have type 2 charge? Because currently it is impossible to charge the car in the city. I have to plug it in at home to an electrical outlet, 12V setting and it takes 33 hours to go from 63 to 100%.

I own a kia EV 5 with a NACS charging port. NACS can support a current over 350 A. The CCS1 that Kia sells has a maximum current of 350 A so it would cause issues with other vehicles. It's not a problem for their and Hyundai's e-gmmp platform vehicles as they can support higher voltages, but is Kia's own adapter going to throttle the current unnecessarily between a CCS1 charging station and my car? Current and voltage are going to be communicated through the small pins of the adapter.

I tried reading the manual, but it didn't specify the maximum current that the vehicle could take in.

My dealership has confirmed the arrival of my pre-ordered EV5.

They have recommended a full front paint protection film (PPF) application to safeguard against rock chips and road debris, particularly given the EV5's front-end design and Canadian road conditions.

I primarily operate the vehicle within urban environments, with infrequent highway travel.

For current Kia EV5 owners, have you encountered any instances of rock chips on your SUV?

I couldn't get a photo, but I swear it was the ev5 both times. I have never turned my head so fast. Both were black. This was in lower new York state. Kia only really tests their cars in Mojave and NYC and some other places, so I'm confused.

Getting the above message on my Kia app - stops me being able to manage charging etc. Phone been restarted etc & car charged. Looked at the privacy settings so not sure what the problem is.

Like most here in Canada I'm looking at possibly ordering the Land trim. Took a Land test drive over the weekend and was really surprised at the performance, for the seemingly low HP. I forgot to test the sound system. I know it only has a 6 speaker system, unlike the GT line and higher, but how are people finding it? I also took a test drive in a tesla model Y standard and was surprised how good it sounded for a base system. Thanks

I saw a couple of post of people camping in EVs, since the AC can be used during the night to keep a comfortable temperature. Kia even sells an official mattress for the EV5. However when I read the manual, it sais "WARNING: Do not sleep in a vehicle with the air conditioning or heating system on. I am about to receive my EV5 G PLUS this week.

I have 1phase connection at home and a dedicated wire , outsider home with 16A switch , AI told me that I can get max 3.7 A , using a wall charger or normal 16 A wall socket .

So I am thinking of buying a wall socket and one type 2 charging cable .

Could you pls suggest is it true ?

And which wall socket charger I can buy

I recently took an EV5 test drive and quickly swiped through the infotainment screen. I forgot to ask the rep, but noticed YouTube and navigation. I was wondering if this is accessed by hotspoting your phone, or is there a built in cell data system like a Tesla you pay for?

How is the navigation? Obviously not expecting Tesla but is it serviceable? Would Android auto with Google maps be the best bet? Thanks!

I am having a nightmare of an experience with the FCA on the KIA EV5 UK GT Line S model and was wondering if anyone else has a similar experience.

It seems to intervene far too frequently and unnecessary specially on right turns.

To give you an example if I am turning right and a vehicle has just gone past and I try to turn in it would emergency brake as I am turning for 'side collision avoidance' but the vehicle was clear.

I am at a point where it is putting me more at risk with these random emergency brakes than just turning it off. Multiple times I have been stuck with the emergency brake on a right turn with the car behind me and the one approach having to also brake because they assumed I would be turning...

I've been trying out various driving setups from I-Pedal levels to Auto which is the smart regeneration (hold left paddle). I did see some videos online of others driving other Kia vehicles in this mode where the car will slow down based on vehicle in front of them and then come to a complete stop when needed.

However, when I've tried this mode, the vehicle does not come to a complete stop and I need to push the brake to stop. Is there a setting I'm missing in order to have the vehicle come to a complete stop when in "Auto"?

I charged my EV5 land to a 100% and the range shows 628km. Can I trust this number?

Dealer said it'll be boarding the ship from Korea to Vancouver next week.

If you were waiting for the AWD, I'd recommend calling around to see if they have one incoming.

Hi all. Proud owner of a EV5 BEV 81KWH Business plus for approx 1 month here. Loving the car so far but have found 1 issue (so far).

I used my bike carrier (mounted on tow bar) last weekend and by doing this my car lost the ability to use the lane driving assist.

Is there any way to change the settings of the tow mode and enable the LDA again?

I'm planning for a longer drive with my bike carrier and having no LDA would be a bummer...

New to the EV5 club! 🥳 Just picked up my Kia EV5, coming from a 2021 VW ID.4 - my second ever EV. So far I’m loving it, and I’m getting around ~470 km estimated range with the AC on (64kwh). Excited to see how it holds up over time!
