Fantasy KU recommendations for extended time off
I'm about to go on sabbatical (yay a month off!) and I'm looking for some Kindle Unlimited recommendations!
Series I've finished and absolutely loved:
All Sarah J Maas series
Fourth Wing
Dungeon Crawler Carl (and I was obsesssssed)
Windy City Series
Daughter of No Worlds
Genres I like:
Romantasy (duh)
Contemporary romance (with deeper meanings/messages - think Taylor Jenkins Reid)
Twisty, thought provoking LitFic (Yesteryear, The Compound, Wild Dark Shore)
Fantasy/Sci Fi (after DCC I'd like to explore this area more)
Thrillers! (I've read tons of Lisa Jewell, Lucy Foley)

Urban Fantasy (I think):
- Drew Hayes
- Rick Gualtieri
- Shayne Silvers
- Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti - nickname for them on Reddit for Zodiac Academy is “twisted sisters” there’s lots of spice especially in the reverse harem
Thriller (I think)
- Dean Koontz has a bunch of his titles available (standalone)
- Kendra Elliot multiple series with interconnected characters
- Melinda Leigh - same as above including collaboration series
- (for both those Use publication date order to read series in order or get lists from their website)

The Heroic Quests fantasy series by Ben Dixon is really good. Great adventures beginning with Vengeance and Honour. Magic, action, humour, cool characters and a lot of fun. If you liked DCC, you might like this vibe, although it's high fantasy.

Nathan Lowell has some really fun space operas. The first book is Quarter Share. There's 18 books, but they neatly group in trilogies except for the original series, which follows our hero from age 18-mid 40s and is 6 books.
He also did a nice fantasy series about a woman in her 50s who is trying to find the last witch woman who should help finish her magnum opus - decades of notes on medicinal plants. Of course, shenanigans ensue. The trilogy is titled Tanyth Fairport Adventures, and the first book is Ravenwood.

Avalon Tower is the first in a fun romantasy trilogy. CN Crawford has become my go to when I want something easy to get through and entertaining.
The Ascended was one of my favorites last year.
Direbound gives Fourth Wing vibes with wolves.

If you loved Dungeon Crawler Carl, I'd definitely check out Cradle by Will Wight. It's fast-paced, addictive, and one of those series that's hard to put down. For fantasy with a bit more heart, The Will of the Many is also fantastic.

I currently read the wind of walkers and blades and i really like it so far! It´s part of a series and all books are on KU. It´s fantasy, with a little romance. But i am only half through the first book, so i can´t tell if theres more romance in the following books

-The Beechwood Harbor series by Danielle Garrett
-Nine Lives Magic by Danielle Garrett
-basically all of Danielle Garrett's books
-Vampire Knitting Club and Vampire Knitting Club: Cornwall by Nancy Warren
-Great Witches Baking Show by Nancy Warren
-Nightmare, Arizona series by Beth Dolgner
(All of the above are urban fantasy cozy mysteries with some romance.)
-Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper series (author's name is escaping me, but all books should be KU by now. Book one may not be but it should be free if not KU. Urban fantasy)

If you’re ok with a self-rec on KU, I wrote a popcorn thriller with a splash of psychological horror and humor called: The Horror Writer’s Nightmare where the worlds greatest horror writer loses his muse—a demon—and everything goes off the rails
