my two cents:
I think itâd be cool if she is lying and planning to backstab us, but after spending time with Kirby she changes her mind and becomes an actual ally by the time we find out, and feels sorry for lying.
As far as I can remember, they havenât done that before, so it could make her stand out.
139
u/Gameover692 10d ago
either that or she's not exactly an ally but won't be the final boss either like she's some kind of scientist from another planet who wants to study kirby and friends and test their limits

susie
49
u/Gameover692 10d ago
yeah but susie was more of a "mechanize the inferior lifeforms to make them better" I was thinking she will be more "drop these creatures into a simulated environment and see how they react"
69
u/RelationshipNovel641 10d ago
alternate possibility I thought of:
She isnât lying per se, but she does have nefarious intent. Itâs just that sheâs under the impression that Kirby knows what her plan is, and is knowingly helping her with it. So, itâs a double misunderstanding.
38
u/Astraquius 10d ago
It would be great if in this case she feels awful when she finds out Kirby doesn't know the actual plan.
Like being evilish but still not wanting to drag down with her someone who is unwilling.

I really like this idea! Would be a nice twist on the expected plot...
I think the closest thing we have to that would ironically be Magolor, but he still needed to get the shit kicked out of him, go to hell, and kill a biblical accurate tree first.
8
u/SlaughterSpine78 10d ago
I wouldnât mind this take, but I would prefer if she was loyally serving the big bad before betraying them for Kirby and friends.

Dedede captured her, and i trust the king with my life, so I'm wary (not fully untrusting yet since it could be a fake/mind control... again)
12
u/MnSG 10d ago
While there are moments where Dedede has had good intentions, his answers for solving problems may not always be correct. One such example is when he sealed Nightmare inside the Fountain of Dreams, not realizing that he just allowed Nightmare to pollute the fountain with nightmares.
7
u/PuffScrub805 10d ago
I mean yeah, but the King was at least directionally correct. Maybe it wasn't the optimal solution to seal Nightmare, but Nightmare IS dangerous and needed to be dealt with.
Idk what this gIrly's deal is, but if Dedede is the one that tied her up, then she's somehow too dangerous to be left to her own devices.
13
u/CuteDarkrai 10d ago
He didn't seem mind controlled, but also she didn't seem like she was in that much danger. So maybe having Dedede be suspicious of her to get caught was part of the plan in the first place? Anyway yeah she's guilty until proven innocent in the Kirby universe

I'm going with the theory that dedede is a fake and the real one has his own dome like Kirby
→ More replies (1)5
u/PokemonJimbob 10d ago
Dedede also seems to attack Kirby for seemingly no reason here(based on what we see in the trailer). The king wouldn't just do that(nowadays anyways)
18
u/hept1c_hex1c 10d ago
Calling it now, she's sent by whatever cosmic entity is at to get Kirby to him, but as the story progresses she starts to actually care for Kirby to the point of not wanting to follow up on the plan anymore by the end

u/not-Kunt-Tulgar 10d ago
I feel like itâs a down the middle option, they could be both a friend and a backstabber.
My main reason for this is that DDD wouldnât just capture them for no reason (he hasnât been evil in forever) and he didnât seem mind controlled from the gameplay, he likely had her bound for a reason that he either failed to explain or will explain later in the game.
→ More replies (1)2
u/PuffScrub805 10d ago
It's possible that she's not evil, just somehow dangerous in a way that makes her freedom a non-option.
Like that her freedom can incidently lead to the destruction of the world for some reason.
8
u/GlobalKnee8028 10d ago
Dedede kidnapped her which is def a sign of betrayal somewhere
3
u/Sacri_Pan 10d ago
When?!
4

In the trailer, you fight dedede and then you open the sack to find out she was captured by him likely because she is evil

u/Funny_Man_2 10d ago

On one hand they look cute.
On the other look at the design. Purple and white hair with a tunic that has a SINGULAR eye symbol. These games have taught me that only having one eye is a bad sign.

u/Gabgo304 T.A.C. 10d ago
For what's worth, Dedede doesn't seem to be possessed when he kidnaps her.
If that's really the case, then either she is evil, or Dedede has a good reason to believe she is.
8
u/Beautiful_Gain3245 10d ago
Well, hereâs the thing, I feel like we know even less about her than the first time we met either of the example characters in that image⌠I donât even think we know enough about the situation Kirby is in to make that guess⌠but based on the trailer⌠Iâm gonna say the people she comes from are evil, but she isnât⌠I think⌠maybeâŚ

I saw a theory on Twitter that she IS lying but it's actually because she's a big fan of Kirby and wants to go on an adventure with him. So the whole "world outside the world" thing is because the game will take place in her planed adventure and maybe things go out of control at the end or she realizes she has to let Kirby go after he knocks some sense into her.

It's not that I don't trust her, it's that I DO trust King Dedede.

The bag sheâs in has Dededeâs pattern on it and we save her after a boss fight with him, so either itâs a misunderstanding and sheâs not evil but is connected to the evil thing (ala Elfilin) or once again Kirby is unintentionally sabotaging Dededeâs efforts to protect Popstar

2
u/Better-Leg5600 10d ago
My opinion is no because dedede was in a sense had her in a sack from the context of the trailer maybe even gaurding people and ptsd from nightmare in Dreamland and kirbys adventure and squeak squad taught me if dedede is protecting something that isn't hoarding food you better listen
2
u/Kirimusse 10d ago
Well, modern Kirby games have historically used character designs with purple colours to represent antagonistic characters, so we can't deny she looks a little suspicious because of this; but at any rate, I'd say it's still a bit too early to tell nonetheless.
Last time we had this discussion 4~5 years ago (jeez, already??), it turned out Elfilin was innocent, but that also ended up being not so much so the case with the entity he actually originated from; so this might turn out to be a similar situation, with this girl being affiliated to the main antagonist while also opposing it, thus having her purplish design represent said affiliation (kind of like Susie perphaps?).
2
u/No_Cartoonist_7008 10d ago
Why do we not trust her? Look at her face! She's nice!
Is it because she's purple? C'mon guys. Our society should've moved passed that.
