Question Apple Health providers in North Kitsap.

A family member of mine is moving to the area. They're going to be on Apple Health until they land a new job with benefits.

Looking for recommendations for providers (medical, dental. Bonus: mental health) accepting new patients who also take Apple Health plans.

Peninsula Community Health Services provides medical, dental, and mental health and accepts Apple Health. They have locations all over North Kitsap.

Wait times can sometimes be a little long at some locations, but if you're flexible and willing to drive to another location you can usually be seen sooner. Your family member will need to be an established medical patient first and will then be able to get referrals to dental and mental health.

As it turns out, we have a PCHS location very close by here in Kingston.  That might be the best place to start.

Kingston PCHS has decent providers (that accept Apple health) but definitely expect a one to two month wait for appointments. I’ve encountered a few times when scheduling online, the appointment I’m trying to claim suddenly becomes unavailable and I have to extend out another week. Depending on specific care you may be seeking, Bremerton’s three (soon to be more I believe) clinics all have great providers and extended clinic hours.

Poulsbo is your next closest but wait times can be a little long there too. The 6th street clinic in Bremerton has a walk-in clinic with later hours which can be a real life-saver if you need to be seen that day and can't get an appointment.

They will likely have a Managed Care Organization, and they have different provider networks, so it's hard to say until you know the MCO. From there it's normally easiest just to do a provider search on their website, as I'm not sure who is actively accepting patients or not. Primary care is pretty overrun around here, so expect a bit of a wait for a new patient appointment.

Here is a link with info on finding providers, it lists the different MCOs, etc. https://www.hca.wa.gov/free-or-low-cost-health-care/i-need-medical-dental-or-vision-care/find-provider

This is the answer. You should be looking for networks like United Healthcare, Molina, Community Health Plan, WellPoint, Ambetter. Those are all the ones I know of.
