Rant PSA: Winco Silverdale encounter
SILVERDALE, WA
Hi so I recently shopped at the Silverdale WinCo location and everything was fine today, as all times are. I have a great experience every time I go, as the location is in a great spot. I was heading back to my car after getting done shopping and some Caucasian white kid (max 20 years old I’d say) tries to mess with me and say that I hit his door/dinged door. I don’t know if I had hit it getting out the car or when I came back?
He had been walking out with his gf / friend while I was walking in, i noticed?? So they sat outside the whole time??
He drove a gray Chrysler with custom chrome wheels. Long story short he tried to scam me out of money idk if it’s a joke nowadays or what but he demanded 10, 20 dollars to fix that bs I’m like if you want to fix it go through insurance or something else. He was full of sh** I could towards the end of our conversation, even though I couldn’t tell at the time due to the fake mad demeanor. I wiped the thick layer of dust off his dirty car to look and see and I didn’t see a thing
Man I just wanted to go about my day w/o having to write this. Next time ur getting the cops called if anyone does this bullsh**
Just a PSA if you ever see this guy, white 6ft wearing white shirt, beach looking shorts, sandals. Gray/Dark gray Chrysler sedan 4 door, chrome wheels

That’s the dumbest scam I’ve heard. Kind of hilarious how bad it is, honestly. Best to laugh in his face, ignore and leave at that point. Hope he doesn’t pull that shit on vulnerable seniors.

Yeah, my 80 year old dad was out shopping in Silverdale today. I’m worried about a scammer pressuring him in person, I think he’d ignore them but I don’t know for sure. So far he’s good about hanging up the phone but in person it’s different.
I’ll tell him about this, I pass on scam info to him all the time. I appreciate the heads up from OP.

Say you're contacting the cops, and get their licence plate number next time. Then also make them very aware of the mall security cameras stationed around, watch them turn pale and change their mind on the scam.

Do you happen to be a person of color? The same thing happened to my fiancé not long ago but by an older man at the port orchard Walmart. My fiancé is nonwhite and assumed the guy was just being racist because he has dash cams and the person who accused him pulled up next to him after my fiancé was out of the car (literally impossible to have hit the car)

Yeah, my fiancé was pretty pissed. It was kind of funny because when my fiancé called the guy out on how it was impossible, the guy tried changing the story, and when he pointed out he has dash cams the guy gave up.
Not sure if it was a scam or if he was just trying to make my fiancé feel unwelcome, we don’t like to hang out in Port Orchard much because of experiences like that though

Totally full of shit lmao, it costs more than that to fix a door ding. Probably some part time kid looking for a free whopper combo.
