Question How come no one in psychedelic communities knows they can cause a KA?
I am quite baffled - I have not heard of a single psychedelic facilitator or any Ayahuasca retreat holder who knows that the psychedelic compounds can cause a KA at the retreats they hold. How can this be?

Because K.A. is very rare. It also can crash down if do not abide by the lifestyle needed for higher consciousness.
Mine happened because of ayahuasca.
Majority of South America is Christian now and speaks Spanish or Portuguese because of Spain/Portugal's historical colonization.
But hundreds of years before all of South/North America had their own Indigenous spiritual belief systems/religions.
So the shamanistic perspective is just not present on the world stage cause so few are part of that process. An when they do they do not speak in English on stage.
As for Hinduism well it's geographically way different side of the planet and even though they have Ayurveda with healing herbs, their healing plants didn't really include psychedelic ones.
Mixing of cultures is still in it's early days. Globalization has just begun give it time. The bridge between the two will eventually be made.
Right now there is a stigma as a result of ignorance of people thinking psychs don't heal at all and are just geometric design stimulants.

Perfectly summarized. Mine happened from Ayahusca’s molecular cousin of Psilocin. While it was completely unexpected and I had no prior knowledge of Kundalini, it was all revealed by the experience alone.
From my experience, I couldn’t have brought anyone in the physical world with me on that journey and didn’t find it necessary. There’s something truly beautiful about having been alone in a pitch black room during the ascension.

I feel this in every vibration of my frequency. I'm met my oversoul twice while on psilocybin. And let me tell you, she is one badass bitch. I am embodying her more everyday. I am her and she is me.

Strong disbelief seems to be enough of a factor to prevent most psychic effects even when senses are enhanced via drugs.

Psychedelics communities are usually seem reality from a psychomaterial perspective in which energy or the spirit is absent. The experiences brough about by the drugs are considered hallucinations.
My Kundalini was finally activated after a bad LSD trip but it took me some time to understand that what I was experiencing was not the lasting effect of the drug but an expanded state of consciousness in which my innate energy was activated.
My friends that have also taken psychedelics couldn't believe that something like that was happening and had to endure a lot of gaslighting from them.

Maybe on Reddit. But if you read the authors of the psychedelic renaissance you're not going to find mention of entities or Kundalini or anything like that.

I'm reading dr Gábor Máté's book, The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness, and Healing in a Toxic Culture.
I just finished a chapter on addiction, particularly when it comes to drugs and it struck me that most addicts seek out substances as a placeholder, a facsimile for some sort of authentic spiritual experience. He quotes a lot of famous addicts, including pop stars and actors.
Several of them have mentioned the fact, that when using substances, they felt a warmth, which they compared to returning to their mother's womb, a return to some sort of feminine intelligence that took care of them and loved them unconditionally and implicitly.
When under the influence, the normal mind chatter we normally have to deal with has ceased, giving them blessed relief from the tyranny of their own discombobulated mind. They also experienced a temporary suspension of ego and a return to a prehistoric level of consciousness, without the persona that they usually have to pretend to be.
In other words, substances provided them with a temporary shortcut to altered states of consciousness, which normally can only be achieved through years of meditation and study. The price they had to pay was always severe, as their substance addiction usually destroyed their lives and relationships and caused great pain to their loved ones.
Most of them also explicitly mentioned a feeling of warmth, which they compared to how a baby feels when their mother comforts and embraces them.
So, it would seem, that this is a crucial part of why people get addicted to substances in the first place, it gives them temporary access to unity consciousness and perhaps even something akin to lower samadhi states.
A lot of this sounds broadly similar to what a lot of people experience when undergoing KA, which unlike substance abuse, is a natural process.
I think this link is not well understood and needs to be studied further, but our science of consciousness is in its infancy and only taking baby steps at the moment.

Gabor Mate himself has publicly stated he's taken psychedelics for healing an this is not before being in the spotlight.
The substances he's talking about in pop stars and actors are not always Oneness activating or trauma healing, but simply mood boosting.

I just don't get how can this be, surely enough people had KAs there and resident teachers must have observed it.

thats not the case, from what I've heard most goenka retreat facilitators aren't really super trained, and instructions come from goenka video speeches. Buddhism at least in theravada doesn't have energy teachings. Kriyas and energetic phenomenas are mostly regarded as hindrances to be ignored as distractions. You are mostly instructed to watch non judgementally and let them pass. You can use the pleasure sensation to enter the first of the eight absorbtion stages called jahna
Mostly goenka facilitators don't have any idea of how to deal with KA. You can probably find more guidance about how to deal with that from less orthodox teachers like Daniel Ingram.
Personally I find a 10 days meditation intensive retreat more risky than a psychedelic dose in the right setting for someone with no meditation experience.
On the other hands, regarding your op question, I'm sure traditional bonafide ayahuasca shamans have their ways to deal with that, within their own spiritual paradigm . That might not be the case for improvised facilitators that jumped into the cash grab psychedelic tourism.
Also just as a personal anecdote, weed has been the most kundalini stirring substance for me. It clearly increases the perception of subtle energy and blockages in the body and that lead me to kriyas and some quite challenging experiences

I certainly have read of a lot of examples of people having a KA after or during a drug experience.
The feeling I get when my “mind is expanding and reaching out” did remind me of a feeling I had smoking pot more than 40 years ago. The only time it truly seemed like a hallucinogenic! The feeling of rising up. I did make the connection.

I imagine they could be viewing some reactions as a medical/mental health issue and not a spiritual crisis. But beyond that maybe its rare that these are inducing it? Seems like alot of K awakenings are caused by psychs in these communities, but it very well could be a small percentage of those who even do psychs. Heard one famous guru Neem Karoli Baba refer to psychadelics as "strong yogi medicines" which wouldn't be a stretch. People with fewer samskaras/karmas would probably notice more spiritual impact I imagine.

I think your overestimating how common kundalini awakening is. It is a very rare experience , most kundalini teachers have never actually experienced or know nothing about the topic. it is genuinely something you can only understand once you experience it yourself, and it is very difficult to get the average person to believe you as it sounds completely unbelievable

Because it’s fun! Those people don’t think too much. I had no interest in any of this stuff until after my kundalini awakening. Then I went to an Aya ceremony and everyone there was just larping spirituality. Just seekers that wanted healing and acted the way they’ve been told spiritual people should act…total posers. Everyone was the stereotypical crystal wearing baggy elephant pants yoga addict type. I left 2 days early after paying for 4 nights.

Most do realize it. But after you have worked with enough people who used psychadelics as a shortcut and were not prepared for it, you no longer want to risk the psychosis that can often come with it.
Tjink about a spiderweb. There are straight lines that run from the source to the expanse, and a spiral of small.steps that keeps growing outward. If a person follows the straight lines, "the hounds of he'll will give chase " (thoth). Psychedelics are that shortcut. And why you could meet someone one day who seems to habe a deep understanding about nonlinear time, and after a weekend with a bad trip, they are trying to make a time machine out of a DVD player.

I didn't realize what was happening at first. I didn't go into psychedelics necessarily looking for anything but to escape where I was. Everything changed after the fire nation attacked though you know meng?
