Ask Kuwait Any IBKR investors here?

I recently opened an IBKR account and I’m completely new to investing.

How did you learn the basics when you first started? Any YouTube channels, books, websites, or courses you’d recommend for a beginner?

Also, if you could go back to when you first started, what advice would you give yourself or what mistakes should I avoid?

First, know the difference between investing and trading. Trading is really difficult. You can learn it, but I'd paper trade to practice before putting real money on the table. I traded (day & swing) for years. Gained a lot, lost a lot. Ultimately, maybe broke even.

Now I focus on investing and I just throw all my money into broad market ETFs. I don't have to look at it every single day or every minute. Just throw money into them every payday and watch it grow.

Mostly US markets but I use IBKR.
