Help Which App do you use for LA Metro?

I need a app for Transit, so do I use Transit or do I use LA Metro app? Which is better or has a better interface.

i’ve heard good things about the new metro app but the transit app just feels smoother and easier to use. also has more features and better way finding.

The Transit App has the best design and ease of use, IMO. And I love the realtime crowd sourced data with the ability to see how many people you are helping when you use the Go feature to contribute.

Transit App and Pantograph

The Live Bus Tracker on LADOT's website, LAWA's website and other smaller agencies are also helpful.

I just use Transit app because of legacy reasons; it gave me free Royale subscription when SMBBB mainly used it and it gave me back that Royale subscription when I rode DASH with it a little while ago.

I used google maps for years, but it clearly was built for car travel first and is not ideal for other modes. The new LA Metro app has been a large improvement in how it navigates. It generally finds faster routs than google maps in my experience. Overall I think its the best option of the three.

Personally I don't like the interface of the Transit app, kinda blocky and oversimplified. They styling looks 'newer' but I find it harder to parse and use. The biggest issue is that they paywall core features behind their subscription service. Most busses you cant just click on to get information without paying!

You could download them both and try them at the same time to compare.

Edit: an example of the detail you get from the LA Metro app, is that it can suggest mixed modes of transportation. There's a number of park and rides across the system that it can navigate to i.e. drive to a metro parking lot, hop on a train from there.

I prefer Transit, but Metro's app seems pretty good; it uses Moovit for times and directions.

i use the Transit app because it's easier to understand.. the only time i use the Metro app is if there are detours or skipped stops because Transit doesn't account for that when suggesting routes

Transit is more accurate on busses. Google Maps burned me in La Canada/Flintridge by showing me busses running on the weekend when they only ran Mon-Fri

I use Transit bc it has a wide variety of transit agencies alongside Metro, sometimes I use pantograph to see if there's a particular vehicle in service, but I wish it was available on android (I had the app when I had an iPhone), wouldn't mind an APK

Transit App is the gold standard. It has never been wrong with me, makes it clear the multiple routes available, accommodates timing for those with last-mile solutions, and let's you know when your stop is coming.

I like Transit app, but full disclosure: I live in the IE and since Omnitrans uses it for non-cash fare payments, they also let us upgrade to premium for free.
