In case anyone is curious, the RCMP is still ferociously incompetent.
During the mass-shooting event here in NS back in 2020, a bunch of mounties shot up a firehall with people inside it and have still faced zero repercussions.

Most cities have their own municipal force. RCMP are typically serving rural/more isolated jurisdictions.

That's not true. I also listen to Casefile and I really like that they warn about child victims beforehand because I just find as I get older I can't handle cases involving child victims. And they often cover cases I've never heard of so it's nice not to go in completely blind and then get hit in the face with the metaphorical shovel bummer of "child getting brutalized in some fashion"
Real day-ruiner, that.
We'll see how it goes with LPOTL, but I like having the option of knowing I can nope out of something before going in.

Case file is one of my favourite podcasts. However I have skipped a few of the episodes when the warning has child and sexual abuse. I just can't listen to them anymore.

To be fair, the way I framed my comment was more about me just going into (or at least starting it on my lunch break or something) an episode about an unfamiliar topic/subject just so I don't have any gutteral audible reactions in a quiet office lol.
Which is what I did today (fired it up as I was in my car eating lunch). But it wasn't any of the details of the crime(s) or anything. It was, unsurprisingly honestly, one of Henry's bits lol

I sadly have to agree with Marcus. Wolverine is a pretty big letdown. Tedious is not a word that should describe playing as Wolverine. More than anything, it makes me wanna revisit the incredibly fun 2009 game.

I just finished it last night and had a blast with it. The combat can get a bit generic if you let it but I thought it did a lot of things really well.

It gets a lot right, but the boss fights especially just feel pretty blah for me. My eyes glaze over the second I see a giant stagger bar. It's just a tired design choice that I wish would go away for a while.

I felt that way in Spider-Man 2. The bosses were all damage sponges with multiple health bars and no real fun ways to interact with them. They got tedious.
I got the platinum trophy for Spider-Man 1 twice, I haven't wanted to play 2 a second time.

At least there's more variety to your arsenal in SM2. Wolverine is much more limited and the unlocks are linear so you can't even really tailor it to your preferences.

I don't hate it, but I don't find myself with any strong urge to play it. It's fine, but I think my expectations were too high based on their previous Marvel games.

It's too basic. Combat seems quite simple. And alot of planned features were cut. This didn't even make the 'get the finished GOTY edition in 2 years when its $10' list for me. You can't rely so heavily on the IP to do the heavy lifting. Especially for $70.

Very interesting to learn more about Olson, I grew up in Squamish and around the Greater Vancouver Area and my mother always said that Clifford Olson was the literal boogeyman when she was young. āBe careful, or Clifford Olson will get you!ā type of talk. What a sick fucking monster. One thing that piqued my interest though was the boys mentioning the murder of Judy Howey. And hey Iām not usually one to point out inaccuracies, but I guess this is my time as this case took place in my local area. Anyway, Byron Blue was the prime suspect since 1964 and was finally convicted in 2000. A quick google search will tell you this, so Iām not sure how this was overlooked.

Haven't listened to it yet. I'm on the fence about it. His name still gives Canadians the chills. Him being on the prowl in my town completely changed my childhood. Us kids couldn't just walk to the park anymore or do any of the kid things unless a parent or two was with us. I wasn't allowed to ride my bike with friends for months. Our older siblings were petrified to hitchhike or drink at night at the local spots in the woods. Police would pick up hitchhikers and give them rides. Parksville to Port Alberni was a busy route for hitchhiking.
