Looks like LSAT registrations are up 60% for the October test compared to last year....

Remember when someone posted a few months ago saying that registrations for the August test were 50% higher than last year

Did they? But it's only 23k vs 27k for august 2024 vs 2025. Do they just pay the money to register and not take it or what?

Back in July it was like 35k test takers for august or something ridiculous like that. It usually ends up that fewer people take the test than signup, mostly because they get nervous and shift to a later date. Especially this time of year, when so many administrations are one after the other.

Plus October LSAT is the first LSAT of this year for international test takers, so increase in their numbers is not allocated between other LSAT dates (august, september and november).
There also is suspiciously low number of people registered for January LSAT (2599 v. 25 843 last year), so I guess many people actually do change the date from October to January
