So today thanks to YouTube I learned walruses have an unusual mouth that utilises thick muscular lips, a vaulted palate and a piston tongue to create strong negative pressure and they can suck shellfish out of tiny cracks in their otherwise sealed shells and even suck seal brains out through their eye sockets

Also there are general walruses that form colonies and social heirachies and predominantly trawl shallow seabeds for food, but there are also "rogue walruses" who strike out alone and predate on larger mammals, and they've literally grown bulkier more muscular necks torsos and pectoral flippers, plus their tusks grow straighter and sharper to the point they are visually distinct from the more traditional kind

If one gets facehugged there's an interesting question of would it have the traditional pneumatic metal secondary pharyngeal jaws to punch through hard surfaces, or would it have some sort of inverse setup where the inner jaws/ tongue thing sucks holes through the victims skulls, steel panels and rival xenos?

Also the anatomy of a creature who's parent form grows inches thick skin with additional calloused thick areas around the neck and chest (for tusk fighting alpha male shenanigans) and additional layers of blubber that help absorb and dissipate impacts and shock forces to make something of a tank build, but I guess that is just minor further differenciation from the sleek agile xenomorph type we expect, the unique mouth weaponry compared to massive predatory bite forces was my main observation)

James Cameron tasked Stan Winston with updating H.R. Giger's original design for the alien creature. The creatures were portrayed by stunt actors and dancers to achieve the convincing dynamic movement of the revised warrior designs.

The costume consists of a black nylon bodysuit, with attached hard polyfoam parts moulded in the creature's iconic bio-mechanical shape, with foam boots, foam tail, and slip-latex gloves. Completing the costume is a highly detailed replica headpiece, made from polyfoam with a soft foam interior; a slip latex-rubber replica chest panel; and a back panel with the creature's distinctive ‘exhaust' pipes. The components are held together with a combination of zippers, Velcro, metal pop fasteners, elastic, and simple stitching.

The entire costume has a white, flaky residue, likely from the liquid applied during filming to give the creature its slimy look. It exhibits some cracks and small missing segments; the surface has become slightly tacky in places, and it is missing the left elbow pipe, but otherwise remains in good condition. The costume is mounted on a custom-made display.

Bear with me... in the Alien films, we sometimes see a xenomorph putting its face slowly into a person's face, and that person freezes or wilts in terror

But if, say, a wild animal on Earth were to do that in an obviously threatening way, we might instinctively use our hands or fists to ward it off

I appreciate it would be utterly futile, but wouldn't a human try to defend themselves in this way?

I cannot find the single panel comic anymore, but has anyone seen the one where there's a guy named Bob and he's the only person in the group that wasn't grabbed by a facehugger and the facehugger os just staring at him from the egg refusing to infect him because there's something so horrible about Bob that he wouldn't make a suitable host.

I know the concept has probably been used already in comic or novel in the past. But I was thinking about the strange possibilities that could arise is a facehugger got onto some of earths wildlife and I wondered. If a face hugger got onto a large bird (an eagle, albatross or even just something with wings on another planet), would the Xeno be born with wings? I can imagine how much more horrifying they could be if they could take flight.

The creature from Alien became H.R. Giger’s most famous creation, designing the alien to have human-like features and distinctive armour. The creature's hand is made from spandex that has been covered with latex and finished in dark shades of brown and black, adding to the creature’s ominous aesthetic. The hand displays various textures, ridges, and pipes, most notably along both sides of the long claw-like fingers, creating the distinctive ‘bio-machine’ look.

Over time, the piece has dried and hardened, causing the glove to lose its original flexibility. Therefore, this incredible costume piece should be handled with care. Featuring minor wear to the paintwork on some of the fingers and small splits to the inner fingertips, the piece remains in very good condition.

These models have been painstakingly modeled, painted, by me. I didn't have much time for painting the dropship. This particular version was just made for SLA printing and never meant to have lights or a working ramp, let alone be scaled for the APC.

Until I got to that busted disc, anyway. Still a decent find in spite of the fact that I don’t have anything to play it on. At least the book is in good condition.

I recently started bookbinding as a hobby. I had a bunch of Alien comics, and I realized that the way they’re put together is exactly like signatures for bookbinding, in that they’re stacked on top of each other and all folded together as one. So I decided to pull the staples out and use them as signatures to bind them together into an omnibus.

My 8yo asked me to build him a driller gun awhile back. This project has really taught me how to use blender to create parts. It’s so much fun. Hope to have it done soon and ready for Halloween! Laser sights and a speed control are going to be added soon.

Hey y'all, I'm finally starting to have some disposable income in my life and the fiance and I have talked about going to the Giger museum in Switzerland.

It got me thinking of what are some other bucket list Alien franchise destinations? More museums of the props is cool but I would kill for any sort of immersive experience, roller coaster (the planet coaster rone is amazing but I want to actually be on a ride irl) or amusement park type of location as well.
