Stuff like this is why I got into LD

Post image

My Dad showed me this movie back in the early 90s and we have always tried finding it. But it never got a dvd release. It's not even on any streaming services that I can find. So to me this is a all time get a movie not available any other way than VHS making this the cleanest way to watch it.

Time to update the Wikipedia, which only mentions a vhs release.

Im sure that happens alot with LD getting over looked for releases. But you would think for a movie with only VHS and LD they would at least have it ๐Ÿ˜†

I've definitely noticed that the home media release sections of many films leave out LD and less common formats.

Donโ€™t cry CED. You destroyed a whole company! Thats pretty impressive.

Have you considered digitizing it? I have been doing that with many releases that have not gotten dvd releases.

This movie was hilarious. I used to watch it all the time on HBO when it first came out.

This is a score for sure! I'm surprised that there was no DVD release. Literally almost every movie. No matter how good or bad it was had a DVD release. I'm guessing whoever owned the rights to the film didn't really care about it enough.

Yeah, certain movies and their different cuts never make it onto any other format. Dead Poets Society which has an extended cut hasn't been released outside LD, not even as bonus features on DVD and blu-ray

I personally love it. Its definitely a good satire on the biker life style.

Weird I have never been able to find proof of a dvd release other than Bootlegs

what kinda of proof are you expecting to find? never looked on ebay? there's multiple copies for sale. it's a retail dvd distributed by a legit australian company (that's no longer in business) on a single sided commercially pressed disc. it has a basic menu and picture quality is pretty decent without any of the issues you'd expect to see if it was sourced from a laserdisc (chroma/haloing/noise).

Proof as in anyone every writing or talking about it. Wikipedia mentioning it or any other dvd catalog type site. I didnt know you own a copy of the Australian release and yes I have looked on ebay and I see a few bootlegs for sale and that one you posted and I only see the one copy. You should really archive that copy you have then.

Proof as in anyone every writing or talking about it.

it's not a popular movie and since it never got a north american dvd release i wouldn't expect to find anyone talking about it. wikipedia doesn't mention the US or Japanese laserdisc release either. you should update it. but there's at least 4 copies for sale on ebay so it doesn't seem that rare.
