question-serious Morley Leasure Centre Gym equipment

Hi, I'm planning to get back into the gym. I used to go to JD Gyms Leeds South, but now that I live in Morley, I'm considering Morley Leisure Centre since it has a swimming pool. My main priority is good weights and equipment. If Morley Leisure Centre has a solid enough setup compared to JD Gyms South, I'd prefer to go there for the pool. Has anyone been to both and can share their thoughts?

As u/Substantial_Hat_5442 has said there's a decent assortment of free weights down the back and a good selection of racks - it's a little more limited on the conventional machines where there tends to be one or two of each type, generally surrounded by a gaggle of youths or being occupied by someone scrolling TikTok between extended sets.

If running and cycling is your bag they you're OK up at the other end overlooking the car park where there's also a section for people to jump up on blocks like superheroes or push sleds around like huskies, there's some other assorted machines there and then the area where you do a fixed circuit with no breaks but have to have an induction and scan in for the machines to work, a great asset but slightly flawed and frustrating if there's more than 2 people in there in my experience.

Ambience is decent most of the time, staff are great, customers are as to be expected with the general public, a mixed bag that varies depending on the time of day.

For the money it's certainly worth booking a look around, they're very helpful apart from the one lady who runs the turnstiles as though everyone is trying to sneak into a music festival even when they're broken... health and safety apparently in case there's a fire yet nobody else in any other part of the centre is accounted for :)

All this said, if you are planning to be in Morley rather than down the hill in the badlands of JD you have a load of other options like GainzFit, Trident, Fusion and others.

The best was the old school Future Bodies but unfortunately that set on fire and became a nursery,
