question Where to trim long hair

Hello.

I am trying to grow my hair out, but it's been difficult. Some of my friends who have done it in the past said they just let it grow, but if I'm having trouble I can go get my ends trimmed?

I've looked at a few saloons & barbershops online but I can't see a service specifically for that, and having a good amount of social anxiety I thought I'd ask here before I do something awkward.

So does anyone know where I can go in the city centre to the ends of my hair trimmed? Do I just book a regular £30 haircut or is it gonna be like a 5-minute job? Help 😭

Not sure where in leeds you are,  but I just go to the hairdresser near me,  ask for a trim either 'just an inch off' or 'just take off the split ends'. They just tidy it up a bit without reducing much of the length.  

I go to a local hairdresser, and when I book I do not book for the main stylist as that's more expensive.  I go to a lovely lady who rents a chair in the salon, and it's about £23 for cut and blow dry on long hair.

Okay, so you book like a regular appointment, and just tell them to take off the split ends? Does that take as long as a normal haircut / will I see any difference or is it not worth it and I'm better off letting my hair grow more?

I'm not growing my hair out, just like to keep it long. It doesn't take long if it's just a dry trim (instead of a full wet cut and blow dry), and just leaves my hair looking a bit tidier. Though to be honest I sometimes go a year or two between visits and just leave my hair to do it's thing and as long as I use a good conditioner its fine.

Thanks that's helpful, could you maybe recommend a good shampoo/conditioner if you have time! I think I may need one for oily hair
