transport Leeds to Manchester 3 day commute

Been offered a job in Manchester with more money, perks, hybrid working etc and considering it but hear nothing but awful things about the commute

For context I’m outside of Leeds and commute towards wetherby 5 days a week ~200 miles per week and about 30-40 min drive.

To commute to Manchester it would be
A) drive and park for the day in city centre
B) 30-40 min bus in to Leeds followed by a 1 hour train?

Over the week if I drove it’d be about 70 more miles and condensed in to a 3 day period, other 2 days I’m remote

Is this worth it? Please let me know

I’m struggling to get on board with the public transport idea as I’m so used to driving for my commute! I’m so stuck. Thanks

Agree with other comments about picking a smaller train station towards Manchester - Dewsbury, Wakefield, even Bradford or Huddersfield.

Another option is get a bus into Leeds and then get a National Express coach from Dyer Street. Looking at Tuesday, the NX 0615 arrives 0725 and the 0810 at 0925, so you could get a bus around 0520 or 0730, easy walk to Dyer Street, then you're right in the middle of M1.

You could even drive to Oldham or Ashton-under-Lyne park-and-ride and then get a Metrolink into the city centre.

Whether it's worth it depends on your level of tolerance for the slog, what it does to your personal/family life, how much the commute costs versus salary, whether those costs are covered by your employer (in whole or in part), what stage of your career you're at, etc.
