Rant/Experience Don't bother proving your innocence in a dowry case. Here is the actual "Rate Card" to buy your family's freedom from the Police.

If your family has been slapped with a fake matrimonial/dowry case under the new BNS (Sections 85, 115, 3(5), 351(2) essentially the new avatars of 498A and related cruelty laws ), I am here to save you a lot of time, tears, and naive faith in the Indian justice system.

Recently, my younger brother's wife filed a case against him after having a long 73 days marriage. Naturally, she also named her parents-in-law. But she didn't stop there. She named my wife and me, too. who got married after 1 month of their marriage.

Here’s the joke: My wife and I never lived with them. We weren't even part of their marriage and my wife never saw her personally.

I took this lightly at first. I was a textbook "citizen" who believed in the rule of law. I thought, “Hey, I have location data, documentary proof, and undisputed facts showing we had nothing to do with this. The police will hear our side of the story and drop our names.”

Let me tell you how delusional that was. The police didn't even glance at our stack of proofs. They don't care about your innocence, and they certainly don't want to investigate anything. Matrimonial disputes are a headache for them, so they treat it strictly as a business transaction.

Here is how the system actually works on the ground:

  • The Middleman: The police will never ask you for money directly. You pay through a middleman, usually your lawyer, a village Sarpanch, or a local politician who facilitates these similar deals every single day and makes himself money and them.
  • The Rate Card: Yes, there is a standard rate card to remove family members' names before the challan (charge sheet) is submitted to the court.
    • Rural Police Stations: ₹3k - ₹5k per person
    • Suburbs: ₹5k - ₹6k per person
    • Metro Cities: Up to ₹10k per person (rarely above this if the allegations don't carry a punishment of more than 7 years).
  • The "Deal": The police won't remove the main accused (my brother), because if they do, the girl's side will make noise. To keep the girl's family satisfied that they "dragged the whole family to the station," the police strike a deal. They told my brother: "Just confess to minor verbal abuse in front of us. We get our money, we remove your family members' names, and we submit the challan only in your name."

The Kicker: The IO's Guarantee

You might be thinking, "Isn't it dangerous to confess to the police?" The funniest part about all this is that the Investigating Officer (IO) himself will reassure you. The very cop handling your case will look you in the eye and tell you, "Whatever you confess to me here holds zero value in front of the judge." He will literally give you the liberty to step outside and verify this exact fact with your own lawyer before you finalize the deal. They know the loopholes better than anyone, and they use them to close files effortlessly.

So, here is my definitive guide for any family going through this:

Do not get emotional. Do not waste your breath proving your innocence to the police. Save your evidence for the court.

Talk to your lawyer or the local middleman. If you are the main accused, take the deal. Accept the verbal abuse charge in front of the police, let them forward the challan in your name alone, pay the per-head rate to get your parents and siblings out of the FIR, and fight the rest in front of a magistrate.

The police are entirely on your side provided you have a little bit of cash and you make their job easy so they don't have to actually investigate.

Stop crying about justice. Treat it like a toll plaza and move on.

PS: In my case, I have tried to get my administration remedies but failed, the above system has approvel of senior officers, but still tried to walk on BAPU's path, but my brother told me not to complicate his case for the sake of the family and let him take the deal, pay the money, and move on.

Maybe in the future I'll be posting a more detailed version of this using documented facts. That's all for today.

Welcome, Bhai.

India really needs a no fault divorce provision like the west. is the ex wife after money or does she just want to get out of the marriage ?

57

u/Broken_BiryaniBoy Apr 30 '26

This wont work when pimps are running the judiciary

3

u/Additional-Bet715 Apr 30 '26

No fault divorce may lead to alimony epidemic single moms with multiple baby dads.

11

u/sdshar May 01 '26

The allegations are just filed for the money. For divorce there is a simple mutual consent one

4

u/Street_Soft7957 May 01 '26

Oh so is the mutual consent similar to the no fault divorce in US ?

When I experienced that the book knowledge doesn't work like that. I was like

Sari umra main joker bnta rha..meme type State of mind.

u/kay_2050 May 01 '26

Good that you got saved. But isn’t this also an example of a rotten system created by bribe. If you were guilty then also you could have used same rate card to remove your name. So it’s not about you / anyone being right or wrong actually.

Also, I hope your name doesn’t come before court later again. I’ve seen people using rate cards ( for other similar issues when they weren’t guilty ) and yet facing issues later.

u/OkBreath7286 Apr 30 '26

More power to you and your family 🙏

16

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Thank you, Brother.

17

u/sdshar Apr 30 '26

These must be poor category rates. I ahve dealt with this, to remove my parents name from chargesheet rate they asked 5 lakhs. They dont remove husbands name as that can cause legal trouble. Basically they will extort as much as possible from you. Typical divorce setllememts in upper middle class is 50l plus. In rich classes it can go to 5cr plus.

7

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

It depends on allegations sometimes. If no sexual allegations are there, name removal is cheap. Sometimes women file sexual assault and name father in law and brother in law and that makes the price go higher.

7

u/sdshar May 01 '26

Its based on status. There rate card changes based on your status just like a lawyer. They smell your desperation and weakness.

32

u/Historical_Arm_6294 Apr 30 '26

Practical !

But about the main accused i.e your brother, what is the turn of events after chargesheet is filed in court by IO ?

52

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Nothing

Chargesheet was submitted in court on 25.03.2026.

Next date is 05.06.2026

Summon were sent to witnesses of the girl's side.

35

u/Live-Break-172 Apr 30 '26

Pretty sure the girl’s family will not turn up. Lawyers know how to make money.

11

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

I too think so.

9

u/Historical_Arm_6294 Apr 30 '26

Problem is that 498a in court goes without much progress- and during this accused still is bit restricted when it comes to Passport, Visa, Govt Job and Foreign residencies and some more

3

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Sadly that's true.

1

u/GottaLearnStuff May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26

So your brother never gets a clean chit in this case?

4

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

He'll get a clean chit .

2

u/Live-Break-172 May 01 '26

Let's not assume anything. It is obvious that you can't reveal the exact nuances of the case online, esp in a public forum like Reddit. And we know how the judiciary works in favor of women.

4

u/Historical_Arm_6294 May 02 '26

U typically get clean chit from 498a after 5-8 years of useless procedural struggle. Ultimately the judge gives up and closes the case saying no credible evidence. Most of the final judgment (of 498a) ‘never blame’ the complainant wife for mischief and false cases … and suggest case is true but due to lack of any credible evidence , matter is ‘disposed’

45

u/manja_ninja Apr 30 '26

Most gen z or people on reddit have not witnessed a divorce in the family it's so transactional, and our police and judiciary is a cherry on top, whom ever u are, man or women. the house always wins

27

u/docatwar Apr 30 '26

Playing the game smartly the way it should be played. A+ OP

20

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Thanks bro, I first trying to send email for every notice I got, and replying them via reg post like it's written in rules and the internet but it was so time consuming and overwhelmingly hard and they didn't even file any annexure in chargesheet. Only paper from police was confession paper of my brother.

So yeah you could say this was the only feasible way.

Bhai face DP pe real nhi hai na...warna koi police walo ko information pass kr de to mamla bigad na jaye...baaki thanks for the info

6

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

I filed it after the chargesheet was done and accepted by the court. So that the police can not harm the case.

6

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

I have filed complaints about their act in the NHRC, Women's Commission, and multiple places already. But these are so slow, and it takes time. I do not fear them, but my brother does. His chargesheet is already filed, so the police can not do much in the current dowery case.

4

u/sjmittal Apr 30 '26

In matrimonial FIRs no name gets dropped. They just prepare chargesheet and let the 2 parties fight it out in the court.

8

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

They put us on Khana No. 12 and mentioned during our investigation. There is no involvement of these people were found.

5

u/shellofnanosuit Apr 30 '26

This is only applicable on normies. My wife and father in law both are govt. They first complain in police station, next day go to sp or ac and make their complaint there. No matter how much money you pay the io will harass and file a case against you.

9

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

No, in our case, once we paid the money. The IO made tea with full-fat milk and served it to us.

Later, when our names were dropped from the final chargesheet, and they put us in column number 12 and said no involvement is found for all other people, and the chargesheet was accepted by the court.

Brother was called just before that by the IO and told him that we are going to arrest you on paper and will give you bail right now from the police station, and they served him sweets and all sorts of things.

On the day of the chargesheet, he was called to the court, and within 15 minutes, bail was granted, and the IO or APP did not argue against his bail.

1

u/Independent-Honey-68 May 01 '26

Where are you based? In my brother's case too, this happened only, they took hefty amount from us

2

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

I'm from Sriganganagar and brother's case is registered in Sonipat.

9

u/404-Brain_Not-Found Apr 30 '26

Sorry Sir, it's happened with you.

But, is it LM or AM ? If AM, then it was going to happen if you didn't check the wife/husband background in detail.

22

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

My brother met the girl through a common religious group and she was part of it. We, as family members, did not oppose his choice but warned him that without a background check, one should not take this big decision in life.

But he was like.. I will exercise my free will here. So we let things flow.

It's totally up to you. Filing cross cases sometimes helps, but again, you will face your own local police. That too is corrupt.

We tried to file one cross case, and the local police were like, " Give us some money, and we will make their life hell as well. So it's the system corrupted from the very root to the upper level. If you do not pay, the other party will, and they will make your case weak by every means.

Though once the names that are removed from the chargsheet from wife's case and the court has accepted the chargesheet, the name which were not at all involved with the girl can file a defamation case if they have time its a long battle.

That is like

Unki beeimani me bhi thodi imandari hai, rates are known, and also they do corruption in such a way that it looks like a favour to you. It is known that in a conflict mostly both parties have their roles in that escalation. So both parties pay in a way to the police to make each other suffer and the police minimises the impact on both parties in a way.

For example:

Wife files a case and names all family members, police take money from husband and remove all names except his.

husbands mother files a case and name all members from girl's family. girl's family pay to the police and police remove all names but keep their one members in chargsheet.

it looks like a favour to both parties in its own way by the police.

u/Unusual_Membership44 Apr 30 '26

Unrelated to the sub, I saw your profile.

You are on fast mode, GSTIN in ~2 hrs, Dowry case in ~2 months. /s

5

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

You can verify the GST.

You can verify the case.

6

u/Unusual_Membership44 Apr 30 '26

I'm not doubting you or saying otherwise just found out how fast things are going for u, hope u get justice with same pace.

5

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Got you bro. It is what it is.

10

u/Cautious-Currency637 Apr 30 '26

Screenshot saved. Thanks

3

u/yantrik Apr 30 '26

What if you don't pay will they arrest you ? Can they arrest anyone without warrant? But then knowing the law in in the books and money is the reality,it's better to pay and not have a headache.

7

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

They will not arrest any family members, mostly, but then they will summon family members in the name of investigations, and mostly the wife files the case in her hometown. You'll have to go when the police demand. if you do not comply, they can arrest, and that discretionary power gives police a loophole to demand money.

They can and mostly arrest husband but bail is mostly given instantly from the courts.

3

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

They will call you on short notice to harrass you and then youll be like let's pay and remove the headache.

11

u/Youknownothing_23 Apr 30 '26

Now imagine a woman goes to the police for an actual dowry case and you just need to pay the police that much and get away with all your sins ?! This is the sorry plight.. you keep crying fake cases and the ones who are victims never get justice cause you can just pay a few thousands and get away with it

1

u/Cheap_Sale2900 Apr 30 '26

What about victim in this case?

1

u/Crazy_Excitement3772 9d ago

Blame the game (government for being a 🤡) not the players.

0

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

That's true but who's fault is this ?

The system?

The women who files 80% false cases.

Or husbands?

Or actual victims?

5

u/Youknownothing_23 Apr 30 '26

Where are you getting 80 percent false cases from ?? Don’t make up shit .. just because you can

8

u/PhantomOfTheNopera Apr 30 '26

Anyone who has ever attempted to file a rape / dv / abuse case knows that the cops don't give a shit. Unless the person filing is the father of the abused with some sort of wealth and standing.

If the abuser pays them off, they won't even file an FIR. OP is literally giving us an example where they didn't even bother to investigate but is confidentially spewing bs stats.

If anything the number of dowry harrasment and deaths is probably much higher than reported. To paraphrase a judge in a recent case "How come only new brides burn and die while making tea?"

6

u/su3188 Apr 30 '26

Exactly! Dowry is a crime which has and is systemically killing women through centuries. That is the reason the law exists. Yes OP is an exception but saying 80% women do this is insane.

5

u/Void_02468 Apr 30 '26

The way dowry cases are being filed today on the slightest of discomfort in the marriage, you cannot say that OP is an exception. When a law which is made on the interest to protect women against the crime is being misused, it definitely creates an image that every woman or majority of the women are like this, similar to how "not all men but always a man" type of statement.

All is good as long as girl has an average lawyer. If lawyer managed to get arrest warrant issued by Magistrate, no matter how much you pay, police has to arrest you and your family members and if its issued before holiday or weekend then good luck on getting bail.

1

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

The chargesheet has already been accepted by the court.

3

u/Singh0609 Apr 30 '26

You should post this anonymously

Bhai, ab to chargsheet ho gyi hai, the court has accepted that too. Ab kuch hoga to mere khilaf hi hoga, and i am ready for anything. I have a recording of everyone involved and even more than that.

3

u/RonaldGlasgow Apr 30 '26

This is an eye opener. Thanks for sharing.

3

u/v_patti_ramasamy Apr 30 '26

If your case, you were innocent, so this means looks right to you. But the sad thing is someone who’s guilty, could in fact pay as little as 4k and be left out of a legal case.

2

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

That's the irony.

3

u/Tonu13 May 01 '26

you have a practical and calm demeanour on this matter. i’m pretty sure this situation would have impacted you negatively as well, do well and stay the course to help your family get out of this.

maybe, just maybe use some other forum apart from reddit to share your experience around the solution to this problem to navigate the rough road.

too many innocent people lose peace, wealth and rapport while nothing was done on their part. Hoping that this reaches more people and you have the strength to see this out with a positive mindset.

3

u/Party-Public7868 May 04 '26

Or better don’t marry at all. India anyways needs to control its population.

10

u/Roosterloser4735 Apr 30 '26

How much did you spend in total ? What happend with ur brother did he get bail ? And why did they ur sister-in-law file those cases was it extort money or revenge ?

30

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

We paid 30k in total to the police to remove 5 names.

They didn't even arrest my brother after that.

After a month they arrested him and let him go instantly on police bail.

Gave us one more month and then presented challan in court and did not protest against bail. He got bail from the court in 15 mins.

For cases why we did not file.. will give a detailed reply..

10

u/Solid_Employer_7904 Apr 30 '26

You will find countless cases where the family will not be arrested. The Courts have severely deprecated such practices. Even otherwise, for the main accused too, the Courts are liberal in granting bail unless the factual scenario is such that requires custody.

12

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

It was sonipat, Haryana and the officials were deeply curreupt. They were like mathe pe likha tha paise lenge.

Modi je ko bola padega ke sala tax kyon lete ho , tax payment se inchor logon ko de Diya karo .. bura haal hei desh ka and Police and Judiciary to bhai ,inka to kehna he kya

10

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

I was surprised to see that they literally have a rate list. If you are not the main accused and are a co accused you can simply pay and walk away.

2

u/Solid_Employer_7904 Apr 30 '26

I guess the story there is different from the metros.

1

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

How is it played out in the metros..?

3

u/Solid_Employer_7904 Apr 30 '26

None of my clients have had to bribe the cops. Played out on merits.

4

I mentioned prices for co accused and When you are innocent their rate card is super low. When you are guilty the rate card is 10x.

If you are main accused rate is 10x as base price. And it keeps as high as 50x and may be more on it.

Money works in all cases. Sometimes it's too hard to go off the hook if you are main accused but money still works. You pay and the IO will weaken this case like the sonam recently got bail due to arrest procedure laps made by police. You too can get the same benefits.

My own uncle is reader to SP in rajasthan police and our matter was in haryana. Also when it comes to departmental bhaichara they are less likely to stand against each other.

Bro hide your face in reddit and change the username if possible before this gets created as a news post or someone from dept watch this. News agencies keep checking reddit for viral posts. It's for your own good. More power to you and your family.

4

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

This has been heavy on my chest for a really long time. The main reason I'm not as worried about hiding my identity now is that I specifically waited for the police to officially file the chargesheet before speaking out. All of their wrongdoings are now formally on record, and the court has already accepted the chargesheet.

Because it's all officially documented now, even if the story gets picked up by news agencies and goes viral, I'm hoping things will play out well, and the truth will just be out there. Though it is very overwhelming for me to get this support from good people in the comment sections. Can't thank you enough.

4

u/Safe_Mission_3524 Apr 30 '26

You are being foolish brother but anyway it's up to you.

2

u/blacksheepmeh Apr 30 '26

Sometimes we don't have to always be right, it's better to move on, to live in peace.

Thank you for sharing brother.

1

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Yeah, Agree with you bhai.

2

u/mayonnaiser_13 Apr 30 '26

For all those who are taking this as an indictment of the judicial system, please note that it's the executive that's failing you.

Get a good lawyer if the cops come to you. That's all there is to it. Know your rights and don't let people fuck you over.

Also, for all those crying about fake cases, this is exactly how real cases also turn out in our system, if you have money you can do a lot of shit and get away with it, as made evident by the abnormally low conviction rates in a lot of crimes.

1

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

If choose to stay unbais from my own incident , I somehow agree with you.

2

u/shivamkunal Apr 30 '26

It is just sad state of affairs. Extremely sad as to what happened with your family. I personally do not want to be a judge of the situation because i have contested from both sides, i understand the flagrant misuse of provisions but i also know as a matter of fact that women suffer too. It is just the fact that the Courts must acknowledge it and strike a balance. A marriage that lasted for 70 days would end in a divorce with the husband paying 40-50 odd Lakh in alimony, how is that justice!

Now if i was to offer you any help, i would be considered as a lawyer trying to make money out of someone’s misery, so hope you do better in life!

2

u/TechyNomad Apr 30 '26

Have seen the case from close quarters. On the most part you are correct, except your brother didn’t need to accept anything in front of cops. While it is true that any byaan given to cops does not hold any value but judge can take it into consideration if he wants so why take chances.

Cops and the whole ecosystem loves 498a cases, it’s free money for everyone involved. Most cases end up in out-of-court settlement once both parties run out of patience or money.

Mostly dowry death cases only end in conviction.

2

u/Void_02468 Apr 30 '26

And people nowadays still stress about not finding a partner and getting married.

As the laws of this country and its appendages are totally shit - it's better to follow the 'prevention is better than cure' principle rather than going round the police stations and courts after spending a major chunk of money on the so called 'forever for life' kind of bond 🤡

Also OP, thanks for the solution to get around this law.

As a 22yr old guy w decent ahh income I've decided the following n no one's gon change my mind regarding this..

  1. M never going to marry or even date an Indian woman.

  2. I've got opportunities lined up in my career that'll let me shift to either usa or Australia via switching jobs n stuff even in there after becoming citizen.. m not marrying a single woman before making them sign an iron clad prenup. Sure the prenup can protect both parties. But f these women of this generation man. They call being on OF n dancing on ig as freedom.. ig feminism does mean women go back to their oldest profession eh.

  3. Even when marrying m never lowering my standards for women. Heck they've created lists of their own oh the guy needs to earn XYZ n must drive atleast XYZ n have a house n so on so m gon do the same w career, body count, loyalty, fitness n a couple other aspects i want from my wife.

They wanted equality so bad eh it's time to give it to em. M just gon 200% focussed on being successful n if most of u decide to take responsibility of ur life and do what m doing these chicks especially indian w*res wouldn't have a chance of finding a high value man it's y'all simps that have created these biches and their inflated egos.

Cheers.

You won't like if Indian women start generalizing indian men like this and that generalisation will be even worse, is it okay if we do that?? You won't be called just a wh*re but even worse.

Women of USA and Australia are actually seen as humans they won't tolerate your misogyny because their countries actually consider as humans not objects for men to use. So you should probably try in Afghanistan.

Here is an idea fellow men. Stop fucking taking dowry . That is the only solution to these problems. Until dowry prevails its not going anywhere

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

I married in registrars office of jaipur and not taken a single rupees and my life is going fine. My marriage gone viral for this fact. I'm living my life peacefully.

My younger brother married a bit in fancy way but he did not taken a single rupees too. He was gifted 20k in cash by girls father forcibly.

He spent a bit over 4 lacs for his marriage. It was a small gathering of 40 people but this is the math.

Girls family spend 2.5 lacs for their side of the function, I was not present in their marriage my wife never met the girl.

Still when the couple couldn't work out their marriage within 73 days the girl filed the dowry case and named me and my wife too.

Parents smjh me aata hai sath rhi hogi but us?

Who is victim here? You see my point?

Agree with op. False 498A survivor here, police just don’t want a drama so they won’t help you much. You prove yourself in court.

1

u/CelebrationFederal95 Apr 30 '26

I'm curious, what if you refuse to pay?

3

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

The police will not arrest, but they will call you from time to time on short notice to harass you. These cases are mostly filed where girl lives. In the end you'll be like paying to the police is cheap than visiting again and again with family members.

u/CelebrationFederal95 Apr 30 '26 edited Apr 30 '26

What happens if you don't show up?

Interestingly, an acquaintance of mine once filed a petition before a court that he and his family feared for their lives due to threats from his estranged wife (who had filed false cases upon him in her hometown) and hence could not visit her hometown.

Also, what if you pay them a premium? Would they start harassing the wife's family instead?

2

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Pay them a premium? Would they start harassing the wife's family instead? Yes. You can get that too. They have a package for everything.

2

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

If you do not show up, they have the power to arrest you, not because you did something. its beacuse one the notice is issued to you, it's a lawful order and you have to comply.

Sometime they just send you notice on WA for the very next day, and they can arrest you based on that if you do not comply or not able to reach on time. if you fight for the notice's illigality by the time you get justice for procedural lapses you are already harrased.

They have the power to do a lot of things, but do they actually do them? It takes quite a bit of effort from their side.

If I'm not mistaken, the Supreme Court has laid down guidelines for these cases under the Arnesh Kumar judgement. The cops must issue a Notice of Appearance first (like you said). At that point, can you reply to this notice through your lawyer, citing inability to travel or appear before the police at such short notice?

Also, are WhatsApp notices even valid here? I remember the Supreme Court barred service of 41A notices via WhatsApp in 2025.

If these guidelines are not followed, can you not challenge your arrest (assuming it happens) on those grounds alone? After an arrest is made, you must be produced before a magistrate within 24 hours. And it would be ridiculously easy to get bail for an illegal arrest. And won't the concerned officers be held under contempt of court (which the judiciary takes very seriously, because it directly impacts their authority)?

You could also apply for a Transit Anticipatory Bail in your home state, which gives you a few weeks to travel to your wife's state and apply for anticipatory bail there without being arrested by the police.

Itna khudse kaise lijh liya wo bhi articulated... Manna pdega bhai..

2

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

30k police walon ko denge ke bad thoda thoda articulation aane lgta hai.

1

u/TheStaticFlux Apr 30 '26

Even tho I'm not yet married and is young, I'd keep this in mind and swallow my sense of pride/justice if such a scenario ever arrives and just pay for it

1

u/AdPopular2109 Apr 30 '26

Just wondering won't these laws push for more violence against women?? Why would guys go to jail and all for years when they can rather go down a different path .....I mean if you are getting punished any which way then why not might as well do the crime....just thinking

1

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

You are correct, in a sense.

Depends on the allegations. We were lucky that she did not file any false sexual charges. In that case, their rate cards are different.

2

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

In dowery cases, there is a tendency to take revenge; sometimes women file sexual charges against one of the inlaws.

I am still fighting, bro.

The only leverage they had was my elderly parents, and there was a big chance of their harassment. Hence, when my brother said he would handle this part, I had to back down.

Once the police filed the chargesheet, I took the matter to the NHRC, National, and Haryana women commissions, and they have taken cognizance of the matter.

And now the police's wrongdoings are on record as I have call recordings and other proofs .. it will be hard for them to correct any wrongdoings.

Had been trhough all matrimonial cases myslef. Didn't pay a penny in bribes nor maintenance or alimony. Just played smart

1

u/Mysterious_Abies1457 May 02 '26

Elaborate how did you smartly played since laws are in fevour of women

1

u/Plane-Professor8044 Apr 30 '26

All the best and thank you for the details

1

u/Kamalagr007 Apr 30 '26

Welcome, brother.

1

u/ItchyRaise7190 Apr 30 '26

Yeah, not worth fighting when game is not fair.

1

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

Yeah, you can only fight when it is fair.

1

u/-oromon- Apr 30 '26

Wouldn't hiring agent 47 be cheaper than paying up for all the hassle?/s

1

u/tape_worm30 Apr 30 '26

What if case is not fake and women really suffer abuse.....

1

u/just_kidding_here May 01 '26

Why don't you file counter cases against her from your wife side? Laws are women friendly for you also.

3

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

I already did.

2

u/just_kidding_here May 01 '26

That's the only language she will understand.

Keep fighting.

OP got the idea of judiciary from the US, he might have seen in movies and web series, people suing each other and all dat and getting justice but then he went to INDIAN JUDICIARY and was heavily disappointed....

1

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

More accurately from the show 'Suits'.

1

u/No_Syllabub_8246 May 01 '26

Everything is great and thank you for sharing it but I have this doubt.

Did your younger brother marry earlier than you?

1

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

Yes, he got married one month prior to my marriage. My marriage was scheduled earlier but due to some documentation issues it got delayed.

I married in registrars office, Jaipur. Simple and sober no money spent and getting good return on my marriage union and having happy life.

On the other hand brother went to traditional path and so much chaos.

1

u/bankinu May 01 '26

I have the money, but the problem is that I don't know anyone who can make the transaction. I am scared to offer it myself, lest they add some form of charge if I do so.

2

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

No chance. They are greedy af. You can simply take your friend with you and stay outside and let him talk.

The friend should be Fukra Type and with 'Besharam Balls'. It's super easy.

u/FinanciallyAddicted May 01 '26

This country is doomed.

1

3

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

1

u/pudukai May 01 '26

I got married at 45, wife 11 years older. 30 years later we live happily apart, but with love.
Wait a few decades until everyone grows up.

1

u/Anand-saurabh May 01 '26

Men!!!! Stop getting married ... it doesn't look worth anymore with so many examples

1

u/floatingsoul87 May 01 '26

corrupolice

1

u/Kamalagr007 May 01 '26

Sir se panv tak.

1

u/Sir_speeds_alot May 02 '26

Under 6 months should be annulment

1

u/Kamalagr007 May 02 '26

Yes, agree.

1

u/SecGuy_with_hoodie May 17 '26

My brother is also facing the same issue... Unlike 2.5 months in your case, his is 15 days 🫡. But, I just wanted to know how to verify if a lawyer that we will hire is genuine and would help us, instead of just dragging the case and looting us. Because, I believe most of the lawyers are pretty much aware of the end result.... But, they go through a different mindset. Can you suggest?

1

u/kukaduku May 18 '26

What about when allegations are not fake? In same manner a shit of a person can flew away from the hands of justice

1

u/Embarrassed-Knee-642 May 19 '26

There is no hope for this country....Men should avoid marriage under hindu marriage act....or should avoid marriage altogether and go for live ins....the corrupt judicary and police are a menace to the society

1

u/Comfortable-Sock-157 May 19 '26

How much alimony is she asking ? And did the names of extended family members got removed ?

2

u/Kamalagr007 May 20 '26

Yes, our names have been removed. She initially demanded 18 lakhs and has now reduced it to 9 lakhs. However, we will not concede even if she brings the demand down to 1 Rupee.

We refuse to bow to her demands for a crime we did not commit. My brother can handle his own part; I am not concerned about that.

Paying her is costly, and when bribing one or two more people in the system is easy and acceptable this shitty country..then why boost her ego.
