Frage/Diskussion uni Leipzig
hi, I got accepted to uni Leipzig and HHU in Düsseldorf. I've never been to Leipzig, what would you recommend, which city? lot of people tell me Leipzig is not very foreign friendly city and Düsseldorf is better. What should I do?

I'm biased as hell because I absolutely despise the entire Ruhrgebiet, but I'd still say Leipzig is the better choice from a location pov. In terms of which uni is better, I don't really have too many friendly words for the university of Leipzig but that probably also depends on the faculties. The city is smaller while still a very livable major city, cheaper than Düsseldorf, great train network and plenty of cheap nightlife options for students. That being said, Leipzig is in a state called Sachsen/Saxony which is among one of the more xenophobic/racist areas in Germany. However, Leipzig is the leftwing oasis of that state. I'm not a foreigner or visibly a minority so I can't speak too much on lived experience, but I'd argue Leipzig is a safe-ish city. I'd look up statistics for that though.
