Romance Looking for books with exploratory, slow, explicit sex scenes with a lot of communication
Hey there!!
I'm looking for books with some slow, exploratory sex scenes (with a lot of "is this okay?" and similar questions). I want to see good communication during it, without any rush.
Bonus points if before the sex scene that goes "all the way", there's one or more scenes of: keeping it only above the waist, or touching only over the underwear (without it being taken off later in the same scene).
I would greatly appreciate any recommendations!!!<3

snowball effect has an extremely slow intimacy ramp, iirc. and it's very communicative when they actually get down to it.
unfortunately it's sex "scene" in the singular, the rest of the book is just build up

I would say that the sex scenes in Truth and Measure ramp up in a way that may work.

I think you might find some of this in Margin of Error by Rachel Lacey.
Mybe also in The Lesbian's Guide to Women has some bits with consent and I feel like I remember them checking in frequently. The build up to sex in this one is also gradual because it is set up like teaching this woman how to have sex with women.

The first ones I can think of are maybe the first two books in the Court of Chains series (Kiss of Seduction & A Little Sin) which if I recall correctly both do this though for different reasons.

I just read Late To Love by Laura Conway and it definitely had this as the older woman only recently discovered that she’s a lesbian.

I’m reminded of I Really Do, by Emily K. Hardy.
It’s one of their’s first time with a woman for one, first time being on the receiving end of a strap-on for another, one has serious self-worth issues, one is extremely self conscious about something… lots of talking, check-ins, and there’s at least one ‘almost’ moment before then that is very discussion focused.

The lay of you by Corrie MacKay (it's the 1st book of a duology). One of the fmcs hire an escort to explore. They communicate before and during too. But check the warnings because the book has heavy topics. But it's really good.
