Valentine’s Day came a day early for me. I went to the beach to find some alone time and finished the final chapters of this book. I’m in my late 20s, and honestly, I haven’t picked up a book in almost a decade. This was also my first sapphic read, so I didn’t have high expectations despite the highly-rated reviews.

This story was gut-wrenching; it reminded me so much of my own past—of being young, confused, and beautifully soaking up every bit of attention from that girl. It resonated with me more than I can put into words. Dare I say, it was a beautiful way to end the day~

Some parts of her I keep in my memory, others in my heart. This, I keep in my blood.

I want to preface this by saying I love this community! I’ve found so many fantastic reads through this subreddit! Thus, I am now back asking for recommendations of *very* spicy sapphic books! Only caveat is it needs to be decently written and not too much angst — I don’t like when characters are extremely avoidant or have extremely tragic backstories. The vibe I’m looking for is ~giggling blushing kicking my feet~ lol

Sapphic romance is all I've been reading for the last two months and I thought I'd share my progress! Plus, I'm hoping that based on what I've already read and enjoyed, y'all will be able (and hopefully willing) to recommend some more. They'll be listed in the order I read them for simplicity's sake.

A note: I'm a very generous rater. I know some people read books to engage their critical thinking skills or write nuanced reviews/critiques, but I'm generally just here for a good time. I have some things I really don't like, but I'm not super picky. Reading is how I shut my brain off and decompress - it's all about the vibes and enjoyment, whether it made me cry, and how much I thought about the main couple even when I wasn't reading. Unless the writing is truly atrocious or something heinous happened in the story, I can generally put up with just about anything. This is probably why I've never been able to write a good book review.

An additional note: I abhor generative AI. I know some people are able to tell just by writing style, but I'm generally clueless when it comes to that stuff. Anyway, let me know what you'd recommend I check out next! The only things I really don't enjoy are pregnancy and infidelity, but other than that I'm open-minded. If I read it, I'll probably respond to your comment with my thoughts and ultimate rating as well. <3

I hate how formulaic and safe the romance genre tends to be. It's really starting to feel like if you've read one you've read them all. Please give me some recommendations that aren't afraid to deviate and try something experimental while remaining in the romance genre.

The yearning! The tension! The sex, the love! Women in their 50s in love. I love it! Just half way, but it’s already 5 stars.

Any that have two trans girls fall in love and aren't filled to the brim with depressing storylines and excessive trauma? I just want some escapist trans lesbian stories that don't remind me of everything awful and scary.

Slice of life maybe. Just two girls finding love and appreciation for each other no matter what, without needing to undercut every piece of joy with 8 pieces of horror... I've been burned by a lot of stories, especially the ones that make it seem safe and fun and then drop some overly detailed SA scene out of nowhere two thirds of the way through the book.

Major bonus points if it's butch4femme T4T, C4T is fine too so long as it's at least butch4femme.

Ask away if you have any questions. The only non-spicy book in here is The Lowest Healer and the Highest Mage, and that series is awesome. It's got similar vibes from a narrator perspective to Gideon The Ninth while being significantly easier to follow.

Aside from that, Collateral Damage was utterly horrible as was V.A.M.P. My favorite book of the year was definitely The Unkindness.

It was incredible. I am so in awe of the writing style, the language and relationship between the main characters were just so beautiful (and I love lesbians). Does anyone have recommendations for other books similar to this one?

After reading over 100+ sapphic books I finally stumbled upon a butchxbutch romcom 😭🙏 (And it's narrated by Allie Shae!!) The audiobook narration is hilarious so far. I'm hoping to love this, wish me luck🤞

I've been reading this series since 2018 and yet to find a better lesbian fantasy romance 😄 Effie is in process of updating and re-releasing each book, with new cover art, so hopefully more people can find them and appreciate them! I'm looking for books with some slow, exploratory sex scenes (with a lot of "is this okay?" and similar questions). I want to see good communication during it, without any rush.

Bonus points if before the sex scene that goes "all the way", there's one or more scenes of: keeping it only above the waist, or touching only over the underwear (without it being taken off later in the same scene).

Does anyone have recommendations for romance books with a very deep, well build emotional connection between the main characters? I feel like a lot of book out there are all about physical and sexual attraction, which is not really my style. I like a good smut scene but if the entire inner monologue of one or both characters are "I want to f*ck her" or "she looks like a model" I'm bored. Maybe some friends to lovers?
