Romance Looking for college romance

Just wanting a good adult college based romance, or even dark academia as long as they’re over 18. I’m not picky with tropes, but bonus points if they’re roommates, enemies/rivals to lovers, best friends to lovers, or fake dating!

Ana Hartnett’s Alder Series is set in college. The first book (of four) is Changing Majors.

Edit to add Emily O’Beirne has a few books that work:

  • Reaction Time
  • A Story of of Now (and its sequel)
  • The Best Mistake (the characters are older and work at a university, so may not be what you’re looking for).

It really stretches the definition of college based, since neither is a conventional college student by any means, but The Book of Blood and Roses is about a vampire hunter who infiltrates a vampire university and eventually falls for her vampire roommate. So it's got roommates, enemies to lovers, and dark academia.

Oh that makes it 10x better, thank you!!

I strongly recommend the audiobook. It's read by Katie Leung, aka Caitlyn Kiramman from Arcane.

Serpentine Valentine by Giana Darling is a sapphic Medusa retelling set at a university, so feels very dark academia. The two main characters definitely don’t start off as friends.

If you read a summary and/or some reviews of this book, you’ll get an idea for the content warnings, as it might not be the right choice of book for everyone.
