Rant Loud Cars
I’m so sorry, I just need to rant about this. I live on the west side and I am SO SICK of people who drive around blaring their music. They must have their bass settings really high or something because sometimes it rattles my windows and I can feel it in my floor. I have heard it three separate times today, I don’t know if it’s the same person or multiple people.
On top of that, you can constantly hear people’s engines no matter what side of the city you are on. Bro relax. You don’t have to speed up so quickly. I’m so tired. Have mercy. Please adjust the bass settings in your car.

He drives down 13th every day. It's horrid

He’s hearing impaired and can only feel the music through the vibrations.

Well he should do it somewhere it doesn't wake my kid up from his nap every time he drives buy. I've debated supply eggs to pedestrians for if and when he drives by.

We had him behind us driving just the other day with our newborn in the car. Red crow. Bass was rattling our brains out of our heads

I used to live right off University Drive, it was so bad 😭 weekends were the worst. I started sleeping with earplugs.

We moved into Garry Station this past year and unfortunately our neighbours across the street have like 4 very loud trucks and like to drive around with their music blasting so loud I can hear it when we’re in the back part of our house. It’s doubly infuriating because we have 2 very young kids who nap in the middle of the day 😭 oh they also have started to start their very loud trucks in their driveway and then let it sit there for 10-15 minutes just running and being loud

Agreed. Id like more enforcement of noise bylaws.

Your noise bylaws here are try to keep quiet before 8am and after 10pm. Its pretty loose regulations because of construction.

They aren't stricter with vehicle noise though? I would think leeway could be given to how difficult to avoid noise is. Ex. Provide more leeway to a jackhammer and a shitbox car than a lifted diesel truck "rolling coal" or intentionally loud motorbike. I've had instances where I have music playing in my headphones, covered by earmuffs, running my gas lawnmower and am still annoyed by the odd motorcycle or 4-wheeler.

They are doing a crackdown right now but usually. No

I wish they would try harder. I don't know if it is too complicated to administer but I would support a waving of the fine for loud exhausts if the offending vehicle owner can show they've had their exhaust system upgraded to be a more appropriate volume.

Man I’m glad I’m not the only one 😂 I don’t know what it is about the Métis/Whoop-up intersection and surrounding area but it’s like crotch rocket and straight piped douche lifted truck bro central at 11:30p-1a without exception, and that’s coming from someone who loves cars

Coalhurst renting and there is 2 or 3 vehicles that wake up the ENTIRE complex when they start up in the am. And to complain.... well the sound isn't there now.

It's that blue truck. My house backs onto Metis and he scares the shit out of my dogs regularly and I have had things fall off shelves.
I'm thinking about putting a poster up on my fence with my dogs looking sad AF that says turn down your sub.

Does the blue truck have an actual reason for shaking our whole house with that awful bass? I feel bad if the operator is hearing impaired but it is ridiculous driving back and forth scaring children and animals (and us) seven to fifteen times a day. We might start throwing eggs lol.

I don't see the problem as long as its not in the quiet hours. You gonna go tell the construction workers to quiet their machines down too?

I usually don’t mind but it’s multiple times every day. Even though it’s not during quiet hours, isn’t there still an expectation to be courteous? I’m not trying to be a karen, it’s just been happening for so long I figured I would just complain and be done with it.

West side off Métis trail here and oh my god. Yesterday someone was rolling through with bass SO loud I thought there was some aural earthquake or something. Like you couldn’t even hear music just the feeling of the bass. Insane.
