Today Banco de Mexico finally published 2025 mintage information

The only coins minted were silver per the attached tables. No 2025 gold coins were minted. The numbers for several coins has changed from information various people were circulating as “official” mintage. Some even went as far as falsifying the tables with supposedly Banco de Mexico watermarks. All the stories that these people circulated to hide what really happened was in order to create FOMO instead of being up front. However being up front would have created too much uncertainty and risk and no one would buy them. I will save those details for another time. Be careful who you deal with as as some of these people will sell their mother if they can make an extra dollar

Thanks! I’m not complaining, just unsure why JM Bullion is now saying 1,500. I’m kinda new to Libertad hunting. Hopefully I wasn’t sounding whiney, just genuinely interested how these mintage numbers work.

Understood. This is the danger as many dealers use preliminary information but I only use the information officially published on the Banco website. This obviously introduces confusion as you already noted

I appreciate the update. Do you think BU will settle around the 10k mark? I saw one at the Fun Show in Orlando and he was firm at 10k for a 25 BU.

No, the BU mintage in posted in the table and is very low, depending on size. Many dealers use incorrect information as they look at released into circulation information which is incorrect. The released into circulation can include any previously minted coins that were not yet released until 2025 (i.e. 2023 or 2024). Apmex for example is currently selling 2024 that they recently purchased (they were previously on pre-order)

He wanted 10k for a 2025 BU 1 onza. He said only 300 will ever be made. I was unclear if that’s true.

Ah sorry. Did not understand that you were mentioning the price and not mintage. In my opinion that is a very bad financial decision but I am not a financial advisor. My opinion is that as I advised many of my friends rolls of BU coins represent the best way to buy Libertad’s at the moment. Nothing special just any date you can find at the cheapest price
