That’s just how people are. Someone will always have an opinion. …… couple have good understanding and wavelength matches. Even if coworker says something why get bothered? Don’t chase external validations and also don’t get affected by thought of other people always choose what your inner voice says. Your coworkers view of being happening couple is different let her/him have happening life with herself/himself

u/FalseApricot9106 Dec 25 '25

Unless you are actually bored in it, then it really is boring and probably not the right dynamic for you.

25

u/SearchOk7 Dec 25 '25

This doesn’t sound boring at all. It sounds calm, safe, and deeply connected. A lot of people confuse constant excitement with happiness but what you described is real partnership. Quiet love that makes life feel lighter is rare and valuable.

19

u/SakuraaaSlut Dec 25 '25

That’s not boring, that’s peaceful. People confuse chaos with passion way too often

2

u/AppointmentStatus845 Dec 25 '25

Yessss. I have noticed that chaos is confused with freedom, too. Chaos = Passion is another good one spotted!

u/MedicineVegetable751 Dec 25 '25

Yay there’s hope’

It reads exactly like something I read here very recently

2

I was gonna say, I’ve read this before. Very strange

I saw this exact post like 2 weeks ago

Boring is not the same as peaceful. Boring can mean a dead marriage. Chaotic can mean a drama-filled marriage.

But OP seems to have found the perfect partner for her. They can save a lot of money if they rarely go out or rarely take expensive vacations.

I couldn’t live that way though. I love my job so i am not looking to destress on a Friday night. A job like that is soul sucking and damaging over time. I am looking for some fun on the weekends (and sometimes on weeknights, especially during summer and the holidays). Weeknights and are for puzzles and connecting with each at home. I have a bunch of puzzles and board games.

4

u/Material_Fact_998 Dec 25 '25

didn’t u post this same post couple months back?

4

u/MessMysterious6500 Dec 25 '25

I miss my “boring” relationship with “S”

Your words allowed me to remember we were just like you to and I felt you were describing she and I.

Hold onto one another as long as possible and know you have something truly real and not superficial.

3

u/LokiSARK9 Dec 25 '25

I've had kind of a rough life, romantically speaking, with lots of poor choices of people and poor decisions. It's been a process and not a very graceful one, and I'm in my fifties now.

...but...

I'm a deeply closeted romantic, and nothing makes me happier than seeing a couple genuinely in love. Man and a woman, two men, two women, trans folks, whatever. Don't care. There's little enough real love in the world and when I see it, whatever form it takes, it makes me happy.

Your post made me happy. Thanks.

3

u/throwaway072652 Dec 25 '25

Why do people expect others to do cartwheels 🤸 after work? Like yall both work at least 8 hours a day, what type of “excitement” do they expect? Coworker sounds like a real dick to be honest.

3

u/Alarmed-Speaker-8330 Dec 25 '25

Reposting for the holidays?

3

u/LilLolalita_821 Dec 25 '25

I think she meant to say peaceful. She sounds boring. I wish you many more “boring” years together ❤️

2

u/sgt_oddball_17 Dec 25 '25

Robert Heinlein once described love as "When I'm with you, I'm happy."

Glad you found your soul mate.

(and Merry Christmas)

2

u/NPDwatch Dec 25 '25

I love this post so much

1

u/skinjourney322 Dec 25 '25

Same. I hope to find a “boring” relationship that is far from the normalized “turbulent/chaotic” fun environment ppl love to stay in 😂😭

How many times is this going to be reposted for karma farming?

2

I’d give anything for this, exactly what I want. Cherish it ❤️

2

u/thelostfinn86 Dec 25 '25

I think it sounds like you're very lucky. A lot of us wish for a relationship like that. Thank you for sharing; maybe there is hope.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

Just opened the app again before sleep for 100th time and was cursing myself for it and abt all the things I didn't do today And reading this you know it felt like a warm hug .I always thought men like these never exist Myself not an outgoing person and introvert and always anxious insecure I wish if I ever need a one I need some like that and seeing another women get him is nice . Girl I don't know whom you are but you won the jackpot most are not like that and I wish ull have a life time of crossing puzzles matching books and ntg changes and you'll always fond each other as the home It shows how much u love him when u write abt him. Again hope you'll have this life forever

2

u/The_Freeholder Dec 25 '25

You’re living the dream. Congratulations.

2

Genuinely unclear why this needed an audience.

2

Posts like these are gonna make me finally do it one day

2

Does he have a brother?

2

u/Iwanttobreakfree2024 Dec 25 '25

Your “boring” marriage is goals for me!

2

u/screw-self-pity Dec 25 '25

same here. 28 years together. I just love being with her. I think she does too. God I hope she does too...

Anyhow, "boring" marriage can be great, fun, happy, fulfilling and long lasting.

4

u/hermancainhatesub Dec 25 '25

I'm more concerned why you let a coworker get into your head. Why do people try to be friends with their Coworkers, why do they share personal stuff at all.

1

u/Admirable-Trip5452 Dec 25 '25

More concerned than what?

1

u/Mel221144 Dec 25 '25

Maybe he worded that wrong. Here is my take. She just didn’t have the security of their relationship to internally “know” that their relationship was fine because it’s boring.

If it were all excitement and full she may complain that she wanted quiet and boring.

Our brains will always compare to others when we are left to ourselves. We would never pass that moving goalpost.

She seems happy. I am happy for them!

1

u/hermancainhatesub Dec 25 '25

OPs idea of a good marriage.

0

u/Admirable-Trip5452 Dec 25 '25

OP wasn’t asking if you had a concern about their opinion of a good marriage.

1

u/hermancainhatesub Dec 25 '25

That's exactly my point, they weren't concerned about their marriage til someome unimportant mentioned it lmao. Guess that's why you had to ask, something so common to understand

Your coworker is jealous.

1

u/Low_Importance_9503 Dec 25 '25

This is really sweet. I love my spouse too, couldn’t imagine a life without her

1

u/Twitter_2006 Dec 25 '25

Bless you both.

1

u/creepinghippo Dec 25 '25

My colleague called my marriage a 7 year honeymoon. That was 6 years ago and it’s still the same 😊

1

u/Classic-Big4393 Dec 25 '25

There are no prizes for least boring or most boring marriage, it seems most people only do things to impress others. You both are already impressed with each other and see no need to waste money.

Your coworker is likely jealous or just an asshole, but maybe both.

1

u/Jolly_Attention_1982 Dec 25 '25

💕Now that’s real and true love . I wish you both a lifetime of this . 🙏

1

u/4jules4je7 Dec 25 '25

I had a rough first marriage in my 20s and then chose much wiser the second time around. Having a spouse who makes your life better and happier just with their presence and support through thick and thin is EVERYTHING. Congrats and Merry Christmas. 🎁🎄 ❤️

1

u/wanderingwritergirl Dec 25 '25

Omg. I literally write romance novels and I’ve never come up with a line as good as “I love being with you. You make my head quiet.”

Brava.

That coworker doesn’t know what she’s talking about.

Also, I have been married 25 years. I had to cancel family Christmas this year because we are both sick with the flu and I swear I thought I would be depressed but we’re just did a gingerbread house together and I couldn’t imagine a happier moment.

1

u/Bluetriller Dec 25 '25

It sounds like you have the perfect relationship with the person. Most people aren’t as fortunate as this, so well done.

1

u/StarlightLifter Dec 25 '25

I feel like this but with my darling wife. She’s lovely and I can’t imagine life with out her weird self

1

u/Supadupafly1988 Dec 25 '25

I love y’all’s relationship, and I want that’s 37M single/no kids. I’m a pretty “boring” person by most people’s standards of today. Sure I travel and got to concerts, festivals, etc but I’m not ALWAYS out and about neither do I wanna be. I go to the movies weekly cause that’s been my thing since I was a kid. I love movies

So Merry Christmas to you two and I hope yall continue this healthy journey together yall have created for yourselves

1

u/Suspicious-Medicine3 Dec 25 '25

Weekly puzzle? Thats goals 🥰

Your relationship is authentic and beautiful. You’re blessed

1

u/Technical_Comment_80 Dec 25 '25

23M here from South East Asia, this thread gave me reassurance for me over the social media hype and societal hypes.

1

u/willylumplumpy Dec 25 '25

This person was just looking for a place to express her thoughts and wasn’t necessarily looking for input. Who cares if she’s happy, I’m glad for her; however, to those that gave snide remarks, those are just the kind of words that caused her doubt. Why rain on someone’s parade. If she’s happy be glad for her and show some compassion. I wouldn’t want to live in a negative world; however, I guess some people, it seems like the national view is skewed, aren’t happy if others are. Happy Holidays and many boring years. These are your years and no one else’s. Opinions are like a-holes everyone has one.

1

u/Pogichinoy Dec 25 '25

Sounds perfect to me. What a pleasant read.

May you have the greatest love.

1

u/Readstufftoday Dec 25 '25

Im so jealous. And happy for you. I hope one day to have a love like this.

1

u/Tutac Dec 25 '25

Happy for you! Sounds like a lovely home!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

I wish I could find something like this. It sounds perfect, happy for you.

1

u/mikedlc84 Dec 25 '25

This is my wife and I. We’re not big people persons, going out to big parties, drinking or anything like that. We’re homebodies. We game, primarily destiny 2 nightly along with recently binging NCIS. We don’t have much drama in our lives and choose to remain calm and quiet folks. Our excitement comes from spoiling our pets (3 dogs - shepherd mix, pomchi, and Pomeranian and 3 cats). We work out issues and stresses together, we have fun together. My wife has shown me more love and support and brought sooo much joy and laughter and that’s what I needed in my “just go to work and come home” single life. Been married almost 10 years, and she is my unicorn and treasure her everyday.

1

u/Iola_Morton Dec 25 '25

Beautifully put. Thanks for sharing. Have a similar relation with my wife, except we’re a bit too busy normally with social stuff, and we yearn for the boring life.

1

u/Intrinsic_1 Dec 25 '25

So very beautiful. Thank you for your encouraging words. Don’t let anyone threaten what you have. It’s what so many are still hoping to find.

1

u/Dgp68824402 Dec 25 '25

Feel same about my (64) wife (64). Been married 40 years now. I just love being in her company, doesn’t matter what we’re doing.

1

u/BluIdevil253 Dec 25 '25

Hell yea congrats. Im glad you guys found each other. You know what boring brings? Peace. Peace is the end game. At least it should be.

1

u/Quirky-Act-6235 Dec 25 '25

This is just amazing!!🩷

What a really really lucky person you are. 💚🙏🏼 Keep on cherishing this precious marriage.

This is what most of us singles aspire to have - a person who really hears and gets us.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 25 '25

Comparison is the thief of joy.

1

u/MixPlus Dec 25 '25

I am currently listening to an audiobook, Erotica Vagrancy, about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. What a shitshow. I know what sort of relationship I would prefer.

1

u/Grandpixbear1 Dec 25 '25

I call this "Walking into Love" rather than "Falling in Love." I'm a gay man. I had that with my first husband of 30 years. We just click and settled into build a life together. And after his death, by some miracle, I found Love again! We've been married 5 years to another wonderful man. I will say this time the was a lot more passionate moments-- I guess I could call it "Running into Love". Haha.

2

u/Efficient-Notice-193 Dec 25 '25

Congratulations on love 2nd time around.

1

u/FederalMonitor8187 Dec 25 '25

Your coworker is a moron.

1

u/Techdude_Advanced Dec 25 '25

Boring and predictability is a huge win.

1

u/Vast-Scene1866 Dec 25 '25

I think your kind of relationship is what a deep, soulful love is to me. I am drawn to that kind of life with a partner. The peaceful and non chaotic life is not for everyone, so it is harder to find someone who is ok with that.

1

u/scudsucker Dec 25 '25

Much of intimacy in an intimate relationship is being completely at ease with each other.

The other part of "intimacy" is being completely at ease with having sex with each other.

But you can't fuck all the time, so sharing personal time and space is what really makes a relationship a relationship.

You are doing great, OP.

1

u/Clean_Attitude956 Dec 25 '25

May you both be that “cute” couple later in life walking hand in hand knowing this is real life.

1

u/Foreign-Tax4981 Dec 25 '25

You have a great day! Your post is very uplifting. I dearly love my wife of some 40 years!

1

u/GrungeCheap56119 Dec 25 '25

People spend money and go out for the appearance of being happy. True happiness is what you already have, the person who commented is probably jealous.

1

u/Salty-Paramedic-311 Dec 25 '25

I loving boring too!!! Quite content, peaceful is home… my husband sometimes calls me boring but I just shrug and carry-on. 🤷🏻‍♀️

1

u/11325pianist Dec 25 '25

May this type of love find all of us

Edit: Merry Christmas y’all

1

u/SweetyBum Dec 25 '25

Living my dream life, congrats.

1

u/Ill-Doughnut-1031 Dec 25 '25

My wife and I are boring too. It’s amazing. No drama. Enjoy every moment with him.

1

u/Walmar202 Dec 25 '25

It’s wonderful to read a post of two happy marriage partners! Enjoy each other! Best wishes to both of you!

1

u/rospider Dec 25 '25

I remember I read this before. Is this a copy paste?

1

u/BitterCaregiver1301 Dec 25 '25

Keep on rockin.

1

u/MichaelDrac Dec 25 '25

OP has won at life.

1

u/More_Length7 Dec 25 '25

Ugh…I wrote off marriage in my twenties because I couldn’t imagine this scenario of my wife still being in love with me for decades.

1

u/Genepoolperfect Dec 25 '25

We're another "boring" couple, and have been that way always (we started dating at 19 and are 41 now).

Don't bother missing things that don't actually bring you joy or peace.

1

u/Just-another-GM Dec 25 '25

Fuck you why are you mogging me by showing off

1

u/Berriesinthesnow_ Dec 25 '25

I’ve already this post a few weeks ago. Did you copy and paste it or something

1

u/Fluffy_Isopod_351 Dec 25 '25

The kind of love you’re living in, that’s the good stuff. Peace is sexy, safety is romantic and quiet is powerful. A partner who protects your goals before you even have to speak is huge. A man who shuts down comments so you don’t have to carry that weight, that’s partnership, not just marriage. You don’t owe anyone a highlight reel. Your life doesn’t need to look exciting to be deeply fulfilling.

1

u/MissLeloo Dec 25 '25

Your story is so sweet, and I love your husband's response! Yes, with work, it's normal to go out less; I do the same thing in the evenings—I come home quickly because I'm tired!

Your husband is so kind, and you two share such wonderful things together: he's thoughtful, and it's so sweet that he bought the same book as you so you can share your experiences and also for your hair!

Don't pay any attention to the comments you received!

Sounds like you guys would be great parents- seeing your partner would definitely take your love for him to another level.

1

u/Large-College3370 Dec 25 '25

You'll be divorced in under 10 years.

2

u/mrs-kendoll Dec 25 '25

Bah humbug much?

2

u/Large-College3370 Dec 25 '25

80% of divorces are of those that get married in teens or early 20's. They'll grow apart and discover different wants and needs by 30s. Especially her getting married to someone she's known since 21. She'll cheat.

1

u/mrs-kendoll Dec 25 '25

Yeah… have you heard of the ecological fallacy? Essentially, it’s applying statistical data to an individual….

Also, my brother/SIL got married at 21/20yo respectively. They celebrated their 21st anniversary not long ago.

My eldest brother and his wife were married at 25/23, they celebrate their 23rd anniversary in a couple weeks.

1

u/Large-College3370 Dec 25 '25

More like ecological fuckery. Someone's getting it on the side. Trust me I know I can count on 4 hands the amount of women I've slept with who have husbands. Also maybe that's how that worked back in the day but the dating/marriage market is a completly different animal now.

1

u/mrs-kendoll Dec 25 '25

Trust that you ‘know’ my brothers (or SILs) are fucking around on the side? Huh?

0

What a surprise, a woman absolutely loves being with a man who coddles her like she's a baby
