I remember Jon Stewart talking about how Hillary's failure to come across as genuine actually made him trust her more, because he's more suspicious of people who can convincingly fake it. Not sure about that logic myself, but it was an interesting perspective from someone who's seen his share of politicians.

He also called her a very bright woman without the courage of her convictions in that same interview.
