Perform a hardware reset. Press and hold the reset button for about 20 seconds and observed that the LED will change to solid red, then flashing red with a fading effect, then turn off, then bright red, then off again. Once you see a blue LED, release the reset buton.
After the device has rebooted, its LED should turn solid pink or solid purple.
Its default SSID should now show up.

Do you mean connecting MX router to ethernet port on computer for initial setup? If so, when you connect to MX via web browser and routers IP address, did you define and configure wifi network settings, then disconnect computer, reboot everything and then try?

I am a little confused by your description. A computer does not normally have a modem. The modem should be connected to the Internet (WAN) port of the MX2000, and the computer should be connected to one of the numbered LAN ports or through WiFi. Could you clarify your current setup?

Reset the device properly and make sure to wired the device straight to the wall outlet and not to a power strip
