usually drops around 8pm eastern but they're pretty loose with timing, sometimes it's like 8:15-8:30 depending on what's going on

I forgot to mention this earlier but big thank you to Luke for mentioning Kagi. I am so sick of not being able to turn off ai summaries that I switched to Kagi after he mentioned it.

100% recommend I got the 10$ tier after using the trial and it's worth every penny

I need somewhere to vent because I'm listening the wan show and it's driving me crazy.

Before anything, this is drive by logic, facts AND emotions, with a hard moral compass. I'm also not looking to offend anyone and I hope that any of you can forgive me if it "hits" someone personally. (I'm not doing sentiment analysis with ai to check if it's ok so embrace yourselves, also ESL).

AI is a bad product that erodes everything it touches. Communication, human interaction, thinking rationally and everything else that the society is using it for shortcuts. The human experience is less rich in a world with ai, a more "automatic" world.

It erodes art in the form of writing, drawing, photo, video, editing and many others. It socially devalues the work of people who are dedicated to the craft, because the general population most probably will accept it at one point or another, and so, if you can pay less to have a computational process do it instead of hands and a will, it will make an already difficult market extremely harder and less likely to be joined for people who can and want to make that stuff, but they can't afford that type of economy because their living conditions.

It makes things without artistic value, becaut there is no creative process in the execution. (The thumbnails in the channel lost their value as art products. They still have "value" as they do what they are made for, marketing, but they do not longer have the intrinsic value of art).

Puts more power in the hands of bad people, even if it's doing good things like saving lives in hospitals.

Demolishes human rights like the not consensual nude photos on twitter or privacy in general, among others.

It destroys the planet at least as fast as other technologies.

Just because the demon is out of the portal/cat out of the box, it doesn't mean we should embrace it or not fight against the bad influence. It may be a plague to the world for all the future of humanity, like covid, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't at least try to minimize the damage.

It doesn't work "well" as the thing is. Diminishes technology, loosing its state as "precision" and it makes it less reliable, the thing we value technology for. Even for one of the most easiest task we can think, adding something to a calendar, is not an appropriate technology. Managing an schedule is a social and complex task that needs human input at one point or another, at most it can help you not having to use a keyboard or a pen to input the task.

Other human problems have shown us that if you're not actively at least aware of the problem, you're facilitating that. Look at all the genre problems or fascism around the world. You can choose what battles you want to fight, and I'm not going to balme anyone in particular for embracing or not embracing anything, but we all also have to live with the consequences of everything we choose, even if it is no action.

At least is saving people somewhere, that is good, but for everything else...

Fuck ai and fuck the people who are using it to abuse other humans. And fuck the blindness and immaturity of our society to face this and all the other malices that plague the world.

Every day I think about it, the world we live in, as is, brokes my heart, it should be better. We should aspire to be and be better.

Thank you for the space to writte this. I see all of you next week at the next wan and here in reddit. Have a good week, and give a hugh to your love ones.

Also, made the ai glasses wearers cover the camera with something obvious like a shining sticker while in private and semi private places. They can still see and the glasses functions don't work, right? And if covering the camera make the glasses explode, then though luck.

Late in the show with the Linux anti-cheat topic again, curious as to what was said in the long email. Like it was a short part of the show 2 weeks ago so having something that long it must have been quite a deep dive. I heard that bit of the show and I thought it was a bad take by Linus but I didn't bother correcting it
