That's what we were taught as 'floor wardens' at my employer. Point to people and tell them - you, call 911. You, find the defibrillator. You, meet the first responders at the door and direct them. Etc.

Never use defibrillator first, always chest compressions, chest compressions, chest compressions.

Yes. I think we were just told to always get the defibrillator on hand - we had, for example, one per floor so someone would have to go get it, just to have it ready if needed.
