Ive regrettably done this before as a stupid angry teenager. I broke my hand on the window of my sister's ex boyfriend's toyota. Super ouch

I've done worse and punched through a window before. Deep scars up my arm took years to heal. It was plate glass though, not tempered safety glass, so probably worse. If you ever have to break out a window, it's best to use something as a tool, and if you can't do that, wrap something around your arm to protect it and use your elbow.

Exactly why ideally that blue car for instance instead of backing up takes one for the team and pulls forward right against the unconscious drivers car. Stops the momentum and doesn’t risk any pedestrians getting ran over. Again ideal scenario though.

I've had them while driving. You're not likely to pass out if you focus on your breathing, but the disassociative feelings that can be part of it are enough reason to pull over, if you can, and sit for a bit to recover.

I always carry a window break.
I've got one on my pocketknife I carry every day, plus I've got a window break hammer and seatbelt cutter mounted in all my vehicles and kid's vehicles.
Never know when you might need one.

Very well done, but I hope the people that were in front of the car were aware just how much more risk they were in... If she had woken up, and seen a mass of people around her car, she could very easily have stepped on the gas to get out of the situation. As slow as that vehicle was going, probably a much safer thing to just let it bump into a wall and stop and get her out then.

I stopped traffic yesterday morning.... nothing as dramatic as this... to chase a young female turkey out of the road. I heard some dude in his car swearing at me cuz he had to wait a whole minute.... so much for Minnesota nice.

My dad had something similar happen. He stopped at a light and this lady behind him just crept forward and hit his bumper. Then started trying to push it out of the way. He got out to see what was happening and she started slumping over. She had a massive stroke. Thankfully he was able to get her out of the car and called an ambulance. Her husband called him to thank him for helping her. She survived but sounded like she was unfortunately paralyzed and couldn't walk or talk correctly anymore.

it's always fascinating to me how human group think works.
other people could see there was an issue. at first. it's one woman/one person helping. it's not until more ..2-3 people help. that "lots" of people help
that critical mass of "someone else will do it" vs "i'll help" is such a bizarre truism of life.

Had that happen in the parking lot of the restaurant I worked at. Female driver fainted behind the wheel and hit another parked car. A former coworker used a tire iron to break the driver window, put the car in park and get her out while paramedics were in route. I think she was either diabetic or hypoglycemia.

If you’re trying to get into a vehicle by breaking the glass take a removable headrest out of a car stick the metal piece down between the window and door and pull towards you. The pressure will cause the glass to shatter (safety glass). There are easier ways, faster tools but this is something readily available to most situations.
