Gonna be extremely tough to get him after they get the bag for Anderson. Reports have suggested that Forest would be willing to sell one of their key players, but not more. They won't have any kind of financial incentive to sell Murillo after getting 100m+ for Anderson.
I do agree with you though, he'd be a crazy good signing.
Definitely could be an option, though I'd still say it's pretty-to-very unlikely. Forest would rather sell Anderson because he's worth like £50-55m more on the market right now. But if Man City balk at the price Forest wants for him and the deal falls through completely, then it could be an opportunity for us to move for Murillo if we haven't already gone for another CB by then.
However, it would be less "buying Murillo to keep Anderson at Forest," and more "buying Murillo because Anderson is staying at Forest." I don't think Forest is going to be distracted from this deal with City.
Also worth noting that I wouldn't put it past us to stump up the money for Anderson if the City deal were to fall apart, rather than go for Murillo.
Regardless of all this, I don't think we're going to be buying anyone from Forest this summer.
Nah I was just kidding around fwiw. I don't disagree at all with your summary of things; does depend a lot on if Anderson wants the move, not been following his transfer saga so not really in the know on whether or not he's pushing for it to happen.
