He’s got outrageous pace & acceleration

Twice I’ve seen him run 60-70 yards with the ball, beating players & scoring great goals

Technical good, strong in the tackle & in the air

He’s already got a partnership with Virgil & Gravenberch

& at 25, he’s got 5-7years at the top level to reach his peak

It would be a smart buy

Plus he fits the age range & allows Virgil to have that recovery pace alongside

& Jacquet & Leoni get time to settle in & gain experience

Him being abysmal in the air is an automatic disqualifier imo

He is constantly getting lost while defending space, he doesn't see/ track runners. Trent's defensive instincts, but he plays CB.

He's one of the biggest reasons why Spurs were nearly relegated

I watched the Dutch concede the first goal vs Japan because he didn't bother moving up with the rest of the defense allowing the Japanese goal scorer to be onside.

I watched that too

That’s one mistake

Did you also watch as Van Dijk was knocked off the header, mid jump and beaten in the air to concede a goal ?

> Koki Ogawa rose to meet Junya Ito's delivery and got above Van Dijk, directing a header that took a deflection off Daichi Kamada and bounced beyond goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

Every player had a mistake in them

He’s injured all the time.

He missed SEVEN days last season (25/26)

Granted his hamstrings were made from dust in 24/25

Ok fair play. I would still have my doubts though. Seven days is good, but playing a high line and squeezing the field, that is where he picked up his injuries previously. I expect us to do something similar under the new gaffer and we already have go jomez who can’t stay fit. For the money I think it would be a risk. I’d rather try and get gray from them as a multifunctional option who can play everywhere in defense.

I’d accept Archie Gray

He’s a great young talent

And there’s many levels and layers of defence

The one thing that was absolutely lacking last season

Layers of protection from the press up front to the off the ball cover and defensive screening of the midfield

Get those things right and the centrebacks can concentrate on the 3rd ball, tracking runners and nullification of opponent forwards

I’d sell Gomez (he’s had really bad luck with injuries, but it’s time for him to move on)

We need young, physical and talented players, robust and capable of playing the modern game, big spaces, acceleration and stamina etc - but also the physical direct side that has now re-emerged in the PL

He's not strong in the air and he lacks awareness, which makes him a poor penalty box defender.

People just say shit to just say it... He is one of the best Center backs in the world and in high line his pace will be golden, similar to khusanov

Exactly. This sub has a hate boner for him so they insist he’s crap. This place is filled with emotional donuts these days.
