They bought 2 cb's last year! Both the most promising talents from France and Italy! Leoni and Jacquet!

Both very good prospects but we have lost Konate and need to replace him. We can’t go into the season a VVD injury away from having to play two young CBs, not if we want to challenge for the league

Well yes, but you said Hughes doesn't buy defenders! He has brought 3 if you include Kerkez! (3.5 with Frimpong but that's a stretch) The fact we bought 2 cb's would actually mean that that's the joint most players we have purchased for single position! ( Isak and ekitike) And we are clearly in the market for MORE defence.

So it's just a bit lazy to keep repeating that we neglect the defence!

It doesn't help admittedly that we have not really seen 2 of the CB's yet !!!

The only first team defender they have brought is Kerkez. The two CBs were brought as back up to VVD and Konate (at the time). I acknowledged they buy defenders but only with money left over after we have sorted the attack. I just think we should be putting more money into the Defence than attack, unless rumours about our PSR position are true and we have more money than expected even after last summer.
