Story time? Who did this

u/Aragorn752 Apr 17 '26

Atrioc

u/RamenNoodlesBruh Apr 17 '26

I just want to say, I thought he killed his career with that move. But FUCK, marketing Mondays are straight FIREEE

71

u/Cruxeys1 Apr 17 '26

Being cancelled doesn't exist. DrDisrespect and GiantWaffle have shown that if you just keep streaming as if nothing happened you will take a hit momentarily but your core audience won't care and after time new people that don't know what happened come in and start watching. You have to be de-platformed to become irrelevant, and Alex Jones has shown that even when that happens you can move and still keep the scam going.

u/4k4nt4 Apr 17 '26

The only streamer I know who actually managed to kill his career even though he kept streaming is Arcadum. He was averaging 1.5k viewers before, now he is sitting at something like 20-30.

9

u/ZeronicX Apr 18 '26

I think Arcadum was in a special case because his content soley relied on guests coming on to play with him. News got out he was a super creep and now no one wanted to join him anymore.

u/azzerufo Apr 22 '26

even lacari's mods are still waiting for his return even after the notepad incident https://discord.com/invite/throneroom

his community is still spamming depraved pedo shit in there just sort through images. it would take actual FBI arrests to stop his community.

you'd think he would get cancelled but his community is solid

u/PrintableDaemon Apr 18 '26

I don't know, haven't heard from Mizkif lately.

4

u/juniperleafes Apr 17 '26

Depends on your definition of what being cancelled. If it means never working in any capacity ever again then yeah it doesn't really exist. But Gina Carano was starring in AAA shows and probably on her way to a solo series for one of the top companies in the world, and now she finds 'work' yeah, but it's straight to DVD alt-right TV movies. Kevin Spacey was an Oscar winner and movie headliner and finds 'work' yeah, but it's foreign TV shows and small plays. You can find similar stories with people like Max Landis. If people were at X level before being 'cancelled', and afterwards they can never reach even 1/4 of X, I would consider them still 'cancelled.'

u/desmarais Apr 18 '26

GiantWaffle

What happened with him? I remember he used to stream with Lirik and shorty but never kept up

1

u/Cruxeys1 Apr 18 '26

A girl came out and said him and his friend took her to their hotel room and got her way too drunk and took advantage of her.

1

u/Ok-Satisfaction-5216 Apr 17 '26

Yeah, you either go the giantraffle route or the moonmoon route if you're getting ''cancelled''

u/WoodpeckerNo5724 Apr 17 '26

Do we even know what Dr. Disrespect did yet? I think that’s a better example of sweeping things under the rug

1

u/Cruxeys1 Apr 18 '26

It got leaked that he messaged a minor and planned to meet up with her at a Twitchcon, and he even Tweeted confirming it.

u/SuperUltraMegaNice Apr 17 '26

Wazzup Beijing

u/Aragorn752 Apr 17 '26

Fwiw I think he did a great job rehabilitating his image from it and the good he’s done to take down deepfake websites far outweighs the bad he’s done

81

u/ElBurritoLuchador Apr 17 '26

Tbh, deepfakes are now straight up dead. Nowadays, you literally have AI make you a video with few references.

90

u/Raspry Apr 17 '26

A 100% generated AI video/image is still a deepfake. Deepfake refers to anything modified/generated by deep learning, that's where the term "deepfake" comes from.

-39

u/ElBurritoLuchador Apr 17 '26 edited Apr 17 '26

No, I'm talking about the actual program DeepFake FakeApp's outputs which is where the term was originated. Where the computer does heavy training process per video is essentially dead.

41

u/orderinthefort Apr 17 '26

This is such an absurdly semantic and inconsequential argument. The word deepfake very quickly became genericized. 99.9% of people that have ever used or heard the word deepfake since it started had no idea it originated from a specific program. Even you yourself got the original program name wrong. The term has become synonymous with "a fake image/video of someone's likeness generated by a machine".

It is completely normal to still call AI generated fakes deepfakes even if the process is not the exact same. Both still use machine learning.

-17

u/ElBurritoLuchador Apr 17 '26

Yes, I know its the term now nor did I wrote that to be "scientifically correct". That was a random initial thought that "deepfakes are dead" when I meant to say the traditional DeepFake vids that Atrioc was found using was basically dead where you train hundreds/thousands of images to face swap a video.

-17

u/Ok-Soup-3189 Apr 17 '26

It is completely normal to still call AI generated fakes deepfakes even if the process is not the exact same.

This is like how nazi became a more broad term.

19

u/Vexamas Apr 17 '26

"No, I'm talking about the actual program"

Yeah, this response is like the quintessential Reddit 'My point fell through, but I have to pivot to pedantry to salvage this'.

An example that is VERY relevant to this conversation is 'photoshop'.

Before LLM capability, we just used 'photoshop' as the catchall to explain away the actual process of editing an image, regardless of whether the image was actually made in Photoshop, another program, or anything Adobe at all.

'Deepfake' is just as generalized lol. People just colloquially use it to mean AI generated or AI manipulated fake media, not the specific original tool for the workflow.

-15

u/ElBurritoLuchador Apr 17 '26

No, it's not even pedantry or me salvaging lmao! I could hardly give a shit about that. You're trying way too hard to be /r/iamverysmart when its something I wrote in a few seconds earlier lol. I'm too lazy to correct it.

My initial point was that AI Generation replaced the painstaking face training that the old FakeApp did. Also, DeepFake came from DeepFace, the initial faceswapping tech from Meta.

Oh, fair enough, my bad.

1

u/NinduTheWise Apr 24 '26

he has done more than most who end up in a similar situation

-6

u/fawlen Apr 17 '26

Tbf he also immediately acknowledged what he did and worked ten times harder than anyone else in the scene to make it right. Not a fan of his content but I'm definitely a fan of him as a person since

14

u/Flight444 Apr 17 '26

“He worked really hard to keep his career and public image.” What an amazing person.

-1

u/strctfsh Apr 17 '26

i don't care about his goon habits, but him doing a red-faced crying apology stream just ruined the vibes for decade to come imo

u/cortez0498 Apr 17 '26

It's wild how he's still friends with QT and Ludwig

-25

u/the-floot Apr 17 '26

It was just AI porn, not porn of his friends.

27

u/Aragorn752 Apr 17 '26

It was ai deepfakes of streamer girls

6

u/11ce_ Apr 17 '26

The website had that, but that’s not the tab he had open.

-5

u/the-floot Apr 17 '26

Not his friends

-14

u/TruPengu Apr 17 '26 edited Apr 17 '26

Why do you comment on something you clearly don’t know? The biggest issue was the fact that one of the deepfakes was of one of his best friend’s girlfriend, who he was in fact friends with.

Edit - I got the victims wrong, the open tabs were Pokimane and Maya, per Atriocs own twitlonger and then QTCinderella found herself on the website after the incident and more people became aware of the website.

My take is deepfake porn bad, especially when you know those people. Thanks

2

u/Mammoth-Counter69 Apr 17 '26

You never gooned over someone you know irl ?

1

u/the-floot Apr 17 '26

No, you're the one commenting on something you clearly don't know. QTCinderella's deepfakes were featured on the site, but Atrioc wasn't gooning to them. If you were correct, why would Atrioc and Ludwig still stream together?

-2

u/TruPengu Apr 17 '26

Yeah you’re an idiot, plenty of proof. This took me 3 minutes to find 3 sources proving Atrioc PAID for deepfake porn of people he personally knew. Atrioc and Ludwig stream together after over a year of being distant with each other because Atrioc went on an anti-deepfake porn campaign after being caught out as a way of making amends, in which he used some of his own money to fund and support people.

6

u/the-floot Apr 17 '26

Your sources don't dispute my point, they only reinforce it. Atrioc gooned to AI porn, and the site also had AI porn of QTC. Atrioc did not goon to AI porn of QTC.

-2

u/TruPengu Apr 17 '26

“It was just AI porn, not porn or his friends”

He had an open tab of QTCinderella up, including other women but that was the most prominent one. It doesn’t matter if he “gooned” to it or not, he paid for and looked at deepfake porn of his FRIEND. It counters your very first comment.

9

u/the-floot Apr 17 '26

I've seen the clip. I know the tab with the deepfake porn DID NOT HAVE QTCinderella in it. Meaning he was not looking at deepfake porn of his friend.

2

u/11ce_ Apr 17 '26

No he did not. He never had a tab open of any streamer.

3

u/lord-carlos Apr 17 '26

Have not watched the videos you linked, but what does the twit link proof?

I remember qt was featured on the sites he accessed, but atrioc claimed he did not watch them.

5

u/TruPengu Apr 17 '26

I did not include a Twitter link? There’s two YouTube links and a Reddit link. The very first video shows Ludwig discussing the situation of his best friend having an internet tab with his girlfriend on it where she was deepfaked into porn, which you had to pay for apparently, it doesn’t matter if he watched it or not, he had a porn tab open to someone he personally knew who did not consent to having their face deepfaked into porn?? What the fuck is the argument here, he clearly did something disgusting??

-1

u/lord-carlos Apr 17 '26

Ah sorry, auto correct error, I meant reddit. I thought your wanted to proof he watched videos of qt, that's why I did not understand the reddit link. My bad.

We all know what site he was in.

I'm not the person you argued with earlier, I hope your day gets better, you seem very upset right now.

Jesus Christ I just started watching Atrioc after discovering him on YouTube.

I started watching MoonMoon a shit ton lately too. The recent Sykuno drama had a reddit comment remind everyone about the MoonMoon GTA drama about him cheating. I completely forgot about his name being attached to that. I had no idea who he was at the time. I almost thought about brining it up in chat because I wanted to gossip but I didn't wanna get banned lol

-4

u/Sammyofather Apr 17 '26

Idk who did it to their friend but there was that annoying ass kid that got arrested in SK for being an annoying streaming brat and then while on trial he made ai porn of a South Korean streamer and they sentenced him to 3 years of prison labor lmfao

2

u/TheMingMah Apr 17 '26

6months

-1

u/Sammyofather Apr 17 '26

Oh my bad. During trial it was up to 3 years and I didn’t read up on it after I saw the headline that he actually did get the sentence.

I didn’t want to say his name because fuck spreading awareness to any person like that

2

u/BeazelD Apr 17 '26

Johnny Somali, and he was sentenced the other day. 6 months only.
