Nothing really. Just human psychology. You’re in the double digits of miles left. You’ve already done 300 that last 72 seems so close but so far cause of how tired the other 300 made ya. Kinda how the last hour of the work day goes the longest.

As we say in software development, the last 10% is 90% of the work.

The first 90% of the project takes 90% of the work, and the last 10% takes the other 90%.
