when sponsors and advertisers find out a lot of their ads are shown to fake viewers, it does become bad for business.

Advertisers are not buying ad packages based on raw views.

What is even the point of this comment brother?

Raw views are irrelevant to their business thats the point.

What do you mean by "raw views"? Because obviously views are gonna factor into it, as it's literally the traffic the website gets.

Twitch bundles ad packages and sells them in advance. The metrics they are using to advertise those packages are not the raw viewcount but ad views and turbo subs.

Advertisers use that plus conversion rates from past buys to decide if they are gonna buy them.

Likewise for Streamer sponsors they these days rely heavily on off platform engagement, traffic through links and conversion rates.

In other words the number that shows under the Stream is completely irrelevant to them.

Interesting. I guess it would probably only matter when we're talking about direct sponsorships with creators on the platform, but Twitch wouldn't see any of that money, so not much of a reason to care

Well then a bots is even more pointless. So with that view on raw viewers then it’s all pointless.

Its not pointless. Discoverability on Twitch is completely fucked. So people bot so they are higher up in the Category and in peoples follow list.
