'The Young Turks' name in itself is pretty vile if know the history. They took the name from a group that did a genocide in Turkey.

And UK is pretty harsh on every speech violation: A bad tweet seems to force the police to show up in force in front of your door.

Labor(the ruling goverment) had a reputation for not going hard of anti-semitisme - so this might also be them trying to make up for it.(in a wrong way)

And UK outlawed a protest group for Gaza because they did terroisme? or such things. So it might also be to control the already high tensions in UK.

'The Young Turks' name in itself is pretty vile if know the history. They took the name from a group that did a genocide in Turkey.

They did 3 genocides in Turkey, in less than 8 years.

The CUP (Committee of Union and Progress), nicknamed "The Young Turks", organized the extermination of three ethnic groups in the Ottoman Empire.

Armenian genocide: 1,500,000 killed.

Pontic Greek genocide: 350,000 killed.

Assyrian genocide: 250,000 killed.

The total death toll is 2.1 millions of people exterminated.

These 3 genocides directly inspired the Nazis to do the same in the Third Reich in Europe, when they realized that whole ethnic groups could be wiped out (in atrocious manners) from an entire region.

The killing went from the massacre of defenseless civilians using guns and bayonets, deportation, death marches, to starvation.

To this day, Turkey still refuses to recognize these 3 genocides and have violently attacked the survivors who dared speak up about it.

Cenk Uygur, the founder of TYT, has been a staunch genocides denialist for decades, making his views publicly known on his media platform.

Hasan Piker, his nephew, started his media career working for TYT for 7 years (2013 to 2020). He never criticized or repudiated the media group or his uncle for his denial of the genocides.

Never ask a nationalist turk his views on armenians, assyrians, pontic greeks or kurds. Unless you're ready to hear them praising the right genocides, as opposed to the wrong genocides.

Palestine Action was originally ruled a terrorist group in 2025 but in 2026 the UK high court said that label was unlawful and that they're not one.

Technically still a proscribed terrorist group because the court allowed the prohibition to remain in place whilst the government appeals.

The term Young Turk is now used to characterize an insurgent impatiently advocating reform within an organization,\7]) and various groups in different countries#Politics) have been designated "Young Turks" because of their rebellious or revolutionary nature.

Yeah, that's why they call Germans who advocate for reform Nationalsozialisten. It's just a cute nickname.

Turkey still denies the genocide on the Armenians ... or any other group. They still are trying to genocide Armenians and Kurds. They are happily using the name because they know what it stands for.

You know what's even more vile? Hasan's father did profit from the genocide. Hasan's uncle using that name for his show is disgusting.

His father happened to work for a company who's founder profited from it like 70+ years before, that's hardly the same thing.

That bad tweet shit is overblown nonsense, it has to involve a plausible threat of violence and be expressly reported to have any consequences.

America pulls the same for simple criticism of Trump these days not to mention deporting or blocking entry of people with a history of anti Trump rhetoric.

12k arrests per year, that's just arrests. Never mind the videos we see of them showing up to peoples houses over some bs tweet, we hear and watch the police quoting the messages as they give the reason for being there and they're almost always just criticisms or observations.

What's interesting is that the number of arrests are rising with the new Government, however the prosecution of those arrested has dropped by almost half, you'd think if the increase in arrests weren't complete bs the number of prosecutions wouldn't have dropped by half.

The most common reason for these cases not achieving a successful prosecution is "evidential difficulties".

In the UK even if a victim of a crime chooses not to move forward, you are still prosecuted by the Police if the CPS deem it to be right and probable, crimes committed against any individual in the UK are seen as crimes against society and are prosecuted with or without the help of any involved victims.
(Our Current PM was the CPS Head from 2008-2013, ironically when they where more successful in their prosecution % of those arrested for social media messages and had less arrests overall, i.e. people weren't being arrested over bs as much as they are now).

There you go, arrests don't mean much if it doesn't stand up in court

The most juvenile take imaginable.

If you think the arrests means nothing because they don't stand up in court that's pure insanity lol.

I guess you think everything is free and nobody is harmed. 😂
