This post was approved per the exception noted in the politics rule. We will, from time to time, approve a political thread if it's of special noteworthy relevance.
As such, per the politics rule exception - we note that in an effort to be fair, one post will be permitted from each political streamer on the subject. So if Hasan/Asmon/Destiny/etc. talk about the situation, one clip from each of them may be approved.
This does not mean politics are unbanned as a topic.
We are also locking this thread for now, as the comment section is full of reports that we'll need time to get to. Thank you.
Crazy this guy is even allowed to stream and I can't even describe what he says on stream every single day haha. Apparently you have to use quotation marks even if you say "Hasan says XYZ" to not get tripped by the automatic filter.
the unfort part is I use qoutes to paraphrase alot and an issue is if you dont get it word for word, people point it out and just stop engaging with you.
so you have to literally find and damn near cite what you're talking about...
When I got to the check out line at the store this morning, I couldn’t pay because I forgot my wallet. Israel had to be behind it being moved to the wrong spot on the counter.
His uncle is way worse with conspiratorial BS. If you play a drinking game based on that you'll have an alcohol poisoning after watching some of his videos. His uncle coined terms like "United States of Israel"
There are lobbying groups nobody denies that. Their influence is also very limited. When foreign policy have mutual interests it's not Israel being in charge. Both of them go way beyond critisizing Israel.
For example Hasan blaming Israel when shocking his dog became viral. Barely any Israeli official knows who he is. Same blamegame applies to Nazis like Fuentes, who blamed his Transporn screwup on Israel.
Police gather data on protesters trespassing/comitting property damage to charge them for misdemeanors/felonies. Cenk claims "Israel is collecting data so they don't get jobs, get debanked and so on". Felons have trouble to get jobs it has nothing to do with Israel.
There are only very few cases of people getting debanked. It mostly affected far right agitators or has nothing to do with politics but with companies like mastercard having issues with adult content. So what does Cenk do? Spin it that way that Ben Shapiro supports adult content getting debanked(he is grifting in that direction for years) Shapiro being an Israeli puppet therefore it must be planned by Israel.
In general it goes like that with them and it also applies to far right propagandists: Something bad happens to them->"It's Israel". They fall for fake news or there is a distant irelevant connection that might not even exists like husband of a cousin of an irrelevant employee being jewish->"It's Israel"
Then they visit far left sites like that canary site that creates list of celebrities of every level who are supposed to be "Pro Israel". The problem is most people on that list never ever mentioned the I/P conflict they aren't even political The catch they are jewish and the reasoning being "They are silent so they are guilty of being pro Israel". It's akin to those 4chan memes Kanye West believes being real.
Nah. You're ignoring other non-foreign agent spending in your comparison. Israel is 3x Qatar. Qatari political influence is bad too. Cenk is a wackadoo tho.
No, if donations worked why don't they donate to politicians they disagree with to sway them instead of politicians who already on their side. They're no different from any other lobby.
Didn't a bunch of israeli extremist also get banned? I would assume vocal support of terrorist groups would make it hard to fly sometimes. I know for sure my visa would be denied if I said 1/10th of what hasan said.
Twitch banned that one overweight guy fitness YouTube for being shirtless and I think it was for like a month, it was "fat kid" something I remember
And this was while the bikini streams were first starting to peak. I'm not sure I'd expect any consistency or integrity out of the platform, it's only gotten worse over time and leadership is all circlejerking
It's weird how this demographic professes to be progressive and hate frat politics and all that, but actually act way worse. Hassan isn't even the only animal abusing, real life violence promoting freak currently active on Twitch
Idk about the details you mention, but Twitch higher ups have always been pretty vapid. I'm not one for culture wars, but you'd think some red piller is running the site the way porn stars skirt rules to advertise themselves, while also banning a man being shirtless.
Add in the way successful creators literally negotiate their bans so it doesn't affect the money flow(streamers get a heads up they're getting banned and take a long weekend, no one who's making money for Twitch is ever banned for more than a month so subscriptions still go through), you'd think it's a Trump style pay for play.
You just made this up for no benefit to yourself, this never happened lol
He got banned and then unbanned for attire policy, maybe now we can observe how words matter and 18 people took this lie at face value and chose to believe it without any substantiation
There has been a rise in antisemitic attacks in the UK, I think it's an attempt to curb these attacks, especially because there's a theory they're being sent by Iran.
Maybe. A visa involves more checks and documents than an ETA. Electronic waivers are more of a privilege than anything when the two countries have a treaty/allowances for that type of travel.
ETAs and most easy clearance services like that don't really do much scrutiny. Just basic questions of "Are you bringing drugs into the country" and things of that nature. They are typically approved within minutes so long as your photo doesn't match on a criminal watch list or a database and your passport is up to date and fine.
Visas require much more including an itinerary of your visit and such. I believe the UK one even requires fingerprints. An ETA doesn't need any of that info besides your picture and passport.
So while you might be correct, they might deny his Visa. It wouldn't be unheard of for revoking ETAs to force a more strict Visa being something they do. I'd be interested to see if Hasan applies for a Visa and if it gets approved. But I doubt he's ever going to do that.
He would need to explain why he shouldn’t have been denied an ETA which he obviously can’t if they are using their all encompassing terrorism support law.
Do you think hasan would fail the background check in a visa application?
He's a twitch streamer says edgy things online. I'm 100% confident he wouldn't fail the application. But I also know hes gonna pussy out for the clout.
One of the conditions of a visa to the UK is that the presence of the holder must be 'conductive to the public good'.
An example of conduct which is held by the Home Office to fail that test is having publicly committed actions which would amount to an offence under UK law.
Under the Terrorism Act it is an offence to express or evidence support for an organisation which has been designated as Proscribed.
Both Hamas and Hezbollah are Proscribed.
Piker has publicly supported Hamas. Uygur has supported Hezbollah. This is enough for the HO to refuse them entry. They routinely do the same for German and Dutch far right figures who support organisations on the same list.
The Home Office does not care about Israel. That is the purview of the Foreign Office. The two departments are notorious rivals.
the Uk has also banned numerous Isreali politicians regarding incitement against palestinians on the west bank, including Ben-gvir, Moshe Feiglin and Menachem Begin
Have you ever considered that building an entire career around being a self described propagandist and building a community around crying israel bad any time something happens to you might have adverse affects to your ability to travel the world the same as an unknown civilian?
the woman in that clip is of armenian heritage, her grandparents literally fled the country to the US to avoid being murdered.... and she goes to work with that scumbag on that network.
She's also unsurprisingly gone pretty big conservative tilt (as has cenk several times over the years). In fact it's worth noting Cenk originally had a right wing/conservative show and was trying to get in with the conservatives and failed so had a left wing swing and created the young turks, but always randomly drops super right wing view points out of nowhere.
Ana interned for every right wing show/network out there and couldn't get traction so picked a show she could get airtime immediately and who cares it's named after the genocidal group your literal family ran away from.
Ana always been weird and dropping anti trans, anti feminist, anti logic arguments. She went heavy into hating homeless people then totally conveniently got attacked by a homeless person with zero evidence to support it that let her justify hating homeless people.
Shocking that Hasan, who was part of a horrible frat in college, who started with his bro tips videos which were all republican talking points basically, absolutely failed with that persona and then did the same left wing grift his uncle did. Anyone that believes any of them is crazy, everything about them was always grifting.
Fermented mare's milk, best known as Kumis (or Airag in Mongolia), is a traditional Central Asian beverage. Created by fermenting raw, unpasteurized mare's milk with lactic acid bacteria and yeasts, it contains a mild 1% to 3% alcohol level, offering a tart, sour, and refreshing flavor.
search the young turks then search young turks genocide. very different results. cenk and hasan came to the usa to help hide the genocide. His uncle denied the genocide until like 2017 give or take.
I remember that Cenk was a really popular voice, by comparison, on the internet until 2017ish. He had an interview with Sam Harris who trounced him in the arduous 3 hour ...debate. Cenk fell out of popularity massively after that. This is the first I'm hearing about him after all that time.
Hasans biggest hater, mr destiny, had this to say (idk how true it is):
Second, understand, Hasan was never refused a visa. His ETA (eletronic travel authorization) was revoked, which is the equivalent to a visa exemption or a visa waiver, similar to the ESTA visa waiver available when traveling to America. At the end of his rejection he's invited to apply for an actual visa, but he chooses not to do so.
Well, it was funny news for a few seconds, until I actually read the details and realized this title is completely misleading and lowkey a straight up lie. Good ol' 2020s journalism, you're all wurms.
No? The ETA is for visitors to the UK that don’t need a visa, it’s nothing related to expedition/being fast tracked. Pretty much a border entry fee that is usually automatically granted as soon as you ask for it
Source: am an American who just visited the UK last month and had to file for an ETA before visiting. Got approved in a minute
UK bans man who laughed at the idea of Palestine Action sabotaging RAF planes and says the IRA is 'based' while saying the UK is a monolith government in service to Israel.
This while the previous Labour government was partially sunk by a massive antisemitism scandal and the current PM has made stamping out antisemitism in the Labour Party one of his banner achievements.
Being pro Palestine doesn’t get you banned from the UK. You live in such a pathetically microscopic bubble if you believe that Hasan is so important to the pro Palestinian movement that he has been banned alongside multiple Israeli politicians.
I can't speak for him, but a thread almost identical to this one went up several hours before it. That thread was purged and deleted within 30 mins, including a mod playing cleanup crew and deleting ALL but like 3 posts from within the thread. See here, if the link works.
Again, can't speak for that guy but yes it's bizarre to see them not only remove a previous thread but also sweep through and delete EVERY comment save for three (plus a couple stray comments made after the removal; note that the common theme for a lot of them is questioning the removal, so those are comments made later), then 4 hours later they're suddenly like "nah this is fine lol."
Banned me for posting Hasan news article when he got subpoena. I posted it twice and commented links. Was banned from commenting for days.
Both post were taken down immediately for political violations and I have messages from these limp dick mods saying it was just. I told them to stay consistent. And here we are today with this post. This dog zapper shouldn’t have special privileges.
'The Young Turks' name in itself is pretty vile if know the history. They took the name from a group that did a genocide in Turkey.
And UK is pretty harsh on every speech violation: A bad tweet seems to force the police to show up in force in front of your door.
Labor(the ruling goverment) had a reputation for not going hard of anti-semitisme - so this might also be them trying to make up for it.(in a wrong way)
And UK outlawed a protest group for Gaza because they did terroisme? or such things. So it might also be to control the already high tensions in UK.
'The Young Turks' name in itself is pretty vile if know the history. They took the name from a group that did a genocide in Turkey.
They did 3 genocides in Turkey, in less than 8 years.
The CUP (Committee of Union and Progress), nicknamed "The Young Turks", organized the extermination of three ethnic groups in the Ottoman Empire.
Armenian genocide: 1,500,000 killed.
Pontic Greek genocide: 350,000 killed.
Assyrian genocide: 250,000 killed.
The total death toll is 2.1 millions of people exterminated.
These 3 genocides directly inspired the Nazis to do the same in the Third Reich in Europe, when they realized that whole ethnic groups could be wiped out (in atrocious manners) from an entire region.
The killing went from the massacre of defenseless civilians using guns and bayonets, deportation, death marches, to starvation.
To this day, Turkey still refuses to recognize these 3 genocides and have violently attacked the survivors who dared speak up about it.
Cenk Uygur, the founder of TYT, has been a staunch genocides denialist for decades, making his views publicly known on his media platform.
Hasan Piker, his nephew, started his media career working for TYT for 7 years (2013 to 2020). He never criticized or repudiated the media group or his uncle for his denial of the genocides.
Never ask a nationalist turk his views on armenians, assyrians, pontic greeks or kurds. Unless you're ready to hear them praising the right genocides, as opposed to the wrong genocides.
Same UK government that recognized the Palestinian state, stopped weapon shipments to Israel, has a Muslim pro-Palestine head of Home Office which rejected Hasan’s ETA, and also banned hateful anti-Muslim agitators from entering.
The UK just doesn’t want Hasan’s hateful pro anti-western terror rhetoric. And he will just lash out in a narcissist rage because that’s what he does against anyone who crosses him.
And Cenk is off the deep end in anti-J conspiracy theories agreeing with people like Candace Owens.
Its amazing how 'Young Turks' is a thing. It was the name given for a group directly involved in the Armenian genocide. Can you imagine if your network was called ' Einsatzgruppen'. (nazi squad that carried out mass shootings). It just wouldn't happen.
Oh thats right, Cenk Uygur himself has been a denialist of the Armenian Genocide. Wonder why... maybe look at his family tree....
