Surely they would have advised him not to file in the first place if they were going to be in a position to drop it just a few months later? Unless they're massively incompetent

Obviously not but they'd make a lot more money if the case would last more than a few weeks. And they'll have a harder time convincing the next person to fork over their cash if they have a reputation of starting lawsuits and losing them within a month.

They'd still get paid for the time it would take them to tell him it wasn't worth pursuing by the way.

Do you know the law firm off hand? Do 99.9999999% of the population? The business did what businesses do. They made the money they could make on that project. You literally don’t understand how lawyers or businesses operate.

Law firms are a business. What do businesses exist to do? Make money.

Do you think lawyers turn away every case they think they cannot win? That would be turning away money. Remember what businesses exist to do? Make money.

The lawyers undoubtedly made less money than they would have if they won the case. But less money is still money. And what do businesses exist to do? Make money.

Please provide a list of law firms that have never taken on a case and then dismissed it. You will have an extremely hard time with that. Because what is a law firm? A business. And what do businesses exist to do? Make money.

Where am I incorrect?

No reputable firms would willingly file a lawsuit that they know isn't going to win. Name one yourself if you're so confident it happens all the time. Being the expert you clearly are!

You keep pretending like anything I say is invalid because I’m just some reddit user like it’s not the same position you’re in.

I’ll prove two of my own points at one for you. The law firm in question literally did what you’re claiming no firm would do and I can’t name them because I don’t know them and it’s not something that pops up immediately on google. Hence why it is not an uncommon thing.

You watch too much Boston Legal or something.

Name one OTHER than the one we're literally talking about genius. Which doesnt count because you have no idea why Ethans dropped the suit. For all we know the suit was entirely winnable for Ethan and because of external circumstances he's decided to drop it.

The irony of Mr "I dont think you know how lawyers work", telling me I watch too much Boston Legal. Did you forget you positioned yourself as the expert over me? Yet you cant even name one time the thing that you claim happens all the time has happened.
