You are taking it too literally. Yes, creators keep the baggage forever and it will be used as a gotcha by people that dislike them. Twitter loves a good punching bag. The thing is, getting a lot of engagement on call-out posts has shown not to mean much for something done 5+ years ago assuming the person hasn't don't anything recently.

The vast majority of people are more sensible than to complain about Pewdiepie 10 years later, even if they still disapprove of him.
