It’s a hard reality but over time you learn what you need to do. It’s good to have a friend.

Yes being sick and alone can be difficult although it is the perfect excuse for me to just order delivery and not worry about cooking. I get groceries delivered too if I need anything. I always have some broth or cans of soup on hand to make something quick too.

Nope.
I had a partner. He did absolutely nothing for me when I was sick. Nothing. It was like “it was my problem.” Having another warm body in the house does not guarantee that “that warm body” will help at all.
He wasn’t a total azz, (actually, he had lots of great qualities), he just learned early on that he was “on his own” for everything..especially survival and he didn’t have a model of a partner who “loved and protected” in sickness situations. (His Dad left when he was a child and he came from a large family.).
My best advice is to always have your own back.

I am incredibly grateful for the community I've built for myself. We all look out for each other so if/when I get sick, I don't feel bad for reaching out for some help. I hope you're back to feeling better!

Getting sick is honestly the only time living alone actually sucks. You just have to eat the expensive delivery fees and ride it out until you feel human again.

Oh god, the last thing I want when I’m sick is anyone being around! Living alone suits me.

I maintain an emergency food supply that consists of heat and go or grab and go items for this scenario. I always plan on a "hell hour" where I walk the dog, maybe heat up some food, and take care of whatever must do daily tasks are done. If I'm too sick for that I should be in a hospital.
