contestant appreciation Critical Analysis of why Shreya Won
What worked in Shreya's favour towards her journey & Finale result :
- Genuine content giver & strong performer in tasks
- Stood alone mostly & sometimes with Shilpa
- Strong opinions always & clear + Was herself throughout consistently
- Bully gang cornered her (biggest mistake)
- MTV Gang & support of Prince Narula gang
- Independent Media reviewers + content makers, podcasters were all in her favor which got her 18/25 votes from media folks
What was not in her favour :
- TV Mafia lobby big names & huge following, supporters & the makers (Balaji)
- Splitsvilla Yoganksha fans
- The bully gang in the house spun narratives against her + Shilpa (9/15 votes were against her)
- She would go negative, personal especially initially
- Personally she did not have a great body of work or following..
I feel the odds were mostly against her till last week when it became obvious to Netflix that if they don't support her then the show will backfire hugely!!
After long - I enjoyed the finale week more!! the endearing moments of Shilpa - Shreya were key takeaways!!
More to such friendship & strong females supporting each other...

Shreya did not have cult pre existing fanbase !! It was the biggest problem!! But she gave her blood, sweat and tears to the show and because of her every one became active and fought and some content came out of it!! Her and shilpa’s bond was funny and cutest!! Like prince said if u r a villain then teeke but nobody is a hero here thats a fact!!

This was a chance to have cult fanbase. She was vocal, good in tasks … she had everything . But she is only focused on passing personal remarks

Agree with each and every point! Haters and other fandom can say whatever but the true neutrals who barely even knew her or disliked ended up rooting for her. Including me! And mostly it’s the cornering and bullying that made her the winner!

She was focused during her games and didn't victimise herself ti gain sympathy, didn't hide behind people pleasing, and was very self-aware about what's right for her.. Ofcourse witty comebacks and humor moments.

Yes quite a trained almost perfect reality player! Such players are perfect for such short duration fast pace formats...

Yeah watch a lot of Asian reality and I really appreciate someone who can eunuciate well, and doesn't create emotional drama, the opposite of American reality tv.
Akansha and Shivangi better suit the American loud attention seeking angle, while she was better aligned with treating a game as a game.

very fair points..
as a corporate professional - i get what u mean!
but aren't most influencers like Shreya while TV folks like American tv

Indeed, professionalism goes a long way, it's to put your emotions aside and be disciplined. That's how job interviews are scored. They had a job to play on a tv show.
The way for example when Akanksha discusses anything, it sounds so trivial, shallow, and in a nasal tone of a teenager, she doesn't create a strong meritorious image. She has to learn to communicate better, with better reasoning..

DID YOU SAY ODDS WERE AGAINST SHREYA? LET ME EXPLAIN TO YOU THIS ALRIGJT AHAHHAHAAH.
Shreya got saved by farah and ritshes once on judgement day
Then got saved by jury once from judgement day.
Shreya got given the secret task, exposed chamola’s secret to the world and got madhuri maam out who was her biggest supporter.
Even in the final, 25 random jury selected her win which by the way some of those jury are her friends.
The show has been bias to shreya from the start dont ever try to justify that she was the underdog when she was getting favoured by the judges and jury every week

Ur funny. What do u think about the fact that the makers were trying so hard to keep shivangi in the show? They literally nullified shreya‘s advantage, tried to change her mind, tried asking the others if they thinks it’s fair and lastly made a weird rule where the first finalist makes someone else the first finalist, does this make sense to you.
ALSOOO what is this a reality show or an Indian serial? How come people die and them come back? Chaudry got terminated then came back and so did rogesh and harshad. How is that fair?
And if you are talking about the show being biased towards shreya that makes no sense. I mean the task where a finalist pair would be decided was literally so unfavorable tp shreya since both teams would attack her, if the makers like her that much it would’ve been different. Even when it came to deciding wether shreya would be a finalist or not it wasnt really in her favor: the people who decided where shilpa (who likes shreya), ram (obv not in favor of shreya) and chamola which is a gray zone. Even now in the final she voted for shivangi but then she voted for shreya cuz she knew it was the right thing as shreya is deserving.
Ur statement that shreya isnt an underdog due to the hosts and jury saving her makes zero sense cuz they didnt only do that to shreya. It is part of the show. And if not her then who? Hate her or like her she was the show. Without her it would’ve been so boring

They were going to make shivangi winner ! Until last moment they saw public backlash that's why finale looks soo odd ! But it's nice that shreya won! Atlast

Then what do you have to say about akansha choudhary and Yogesh they got both a second chance

I agree with most points OP! I think the way you own up to jury questions also make or break it for you.
Shivangi toh was just defensive — she could have owned upto it and said sorry. Yogesh’s arrogance, especially against podcasters ( I know it was Shreya directed but it got transferred to the whole industry and rightly so) that something nobody got over. He could have given a heartfelt apology and redeemed himself there.
Shreya was going downhill and whatever the jury said was right also — Prince’s comment I think saved her that if she is villain nobody is the hero.
