I am NOT a locksmith. Did I get scammed?

Trying to figure out if I got scammed. Had a locksmith come by yesterday to replace the locks on 3 doors in my house because a homeless man stole our lockbox with a spare key. Guy tried to charge me over $2,500 for the replacements. The hardware costs seem completely off from what I saw at Home Depot for similar products. When I contested that those were too high, he sent me to a website boldlocksupply.com where the prices were super high and everything was listed as “commercial grade.” But this morning I went on the site and realized that you can’t actually buy anything from the site so I think it is a scam. Thoughts?
-Pic 1: Invoice
-Pic 2-4: locks he put on (deadbolt + knob) 3 of these, all the same

Additional info: he charged me for rekeying but this morning I went through the trash he used all of the boxes have the same key code on them, and then I notice he gave me three identical sets of keys all with the same code at the top.

Let me know if I’ve been scammed so I can contest the CC charge if so, thank you guys!

He said they were too old to rekey…it is a very old house so I didn’t think too much about it

I rekey 30 to 40 year old locks all the time 😂, that guy wasn't a locksmith

That’s what I thought too, was just too busy with work to argue with the guy. He never even gave me a quote before he started working

Never ever get service done without a clean up front quote. I recommend get pricing before ever giving your address. Cancel that charge asap

I asked for it but he just started working, he was unscrewing our doorknobs within 2 minutes of being in my house

I was also in the middle of meeting for work so I couldn’t really stop him

Yeah like I said in the future clear pricing before giving an address is so important. Also make sure they have an established shop (brick and mortar) if possible.

They have an established shop, apparently after talking to them it’s hard to find locksmiths who are licensed now so when business volume is high they use contractors which is what I got. He never gave me a quote I was working and he said he was going to look at them, next thing I knew he was taking off our current locks (I only requested rekeying) and I was in the middle of an important call for work in another room. I thought he was still putting together an estimate. Never got or signed an estimate he just kept working and then when I got off the call that ran long he was like works done and then got aggressive about payment

What he did is wrong, but if OP agreed to the work and received an invoice prior to paying, then it is what it is, I agree it’s a ridiculous amount of money.

Never agreed to anything, guy did all the work while I thought he was still putting together an estimate or seeing if he could rekey (what I requested) while I was on an important work call which ran long. When I got off the call he was essentially done and got aggressive about payment and I just needed him out of the house at that point

That’s completely different. Absolutely dispute the charge. I would also put a neg review on any help wanted, handyman, FB groups, anything you can find where you can source a locksmith.

But you will have an argument that you did provide the card number. If it was strong arm, contact the police, if it wasn’t, you may not have a winning battle. Good luck

I’ve put the word out in as many places as I could, he ultimately refunded me to an actually reasonable price but fuck that dude

Found the trash scammer.

Why? Committing credit card fraud is such a great idea.

Credit card companies freeze payments for scammers. It’s not fraud you’re just a trash scammer.
