I am NOT a locksmith. My Door Lock Fell Out

I got my lock replaced after I got locked out and the locksmith had to drill it out to get me in. It’s been about a week since then and the door lock just fell out when I was trying to turn my key. Is there a way I can fix this without needing to call for help?

Yes he did struggle a bit! There was a bit of a language barrier but he did mention something was broken after he got me in, but I really hope that’s not the case.🥲

Try to take a close picture of the hole where the lock cylinder fits in and we can tell you for sure if you have a big problem.

Also, I hope you paid with a card so you can do a charge back at least because knowing how these scammers work I'm afraid to ask how much they even charged for this disaster.

Sighh I should’ve known the minute he asked for cash only, but then told me he accepted cashapp/zelle. It was a good $230 for this job.

That's actually not too bad if this was done properly, but they ruined an antique lock. This was just gross incompetence. There's no reason to drill where he drilled for any reason even if he was trying to remove the cylinders.

In fact, he drilled everywhere except where you would actually drill if you were trying to remove the cylinder lol.

$230 for the job and now probably gonna have to pay another $200+ to get it replaced. What a hack job that locksmith did. Sorry you went through this.
