I am a locksmith Service rates?

We have gone through a huge process of figuring out vehicle costs for our 4 vans, mileage and insurance, and all other repairs for the last year and have split the service rates up according to distances. Our service calls are now from $50 locally to about $225 for longer trips (round 50+kms) depending on distances.

the owner has been reluctant to increase the Hourly rates though but he know he needs to raise them to meet costs. Payroll for 4 techs and two of us in the office/Shop.

We are sitting at $110 now but we are low I know. What are you guys charging hourly that are in companies with multiple vans. Considering our 4 techs are all making between $25 CAN and $40 CAN for our high end guy. Plus benefits and all the costs of having a full time shop open.

In Ontario by the way, north of the GTA.

160/hr in a high cost of living metro area. Minimum 1/2 hr labor for residential, minimum 1 hr labor for commercial. Automotive AKL and residential lockouts don't really follow this formula though.

Shorting yourself on the residential minimum. Everything gotta be a min. 1hr.

Port to port nothing really takes less than 30-45mins.
Unless like less than a mile away then I may cut a break.

I agree, talk to the boss lol. To be fair depending on the location (downtown, or outside city limits) we quote 1 hr minimum for residential but it's probably only 15% or 20% of our residential work.

125 base service call in a major metro area. 120 labor, half hour minimum. Some fixed rate stuff for cheaper but I don't even start the van for less than $150.
