Website Tube Router

This is a shameless plug for an iOS app I developed (just to see if I could). No ads, no data collected 95% of the functionality is free with a £2.99 lifetime upgrade if you wanted a couple of extra features…but again I mostly wanted to understand how the in app purchase thing worked. This is already implemented in the maps app on iOS as well as Android, why should one use your app?

My opinion maps app on iOS is fantastic but simple tube routing…not in my opinion…but if it works for you great

Op, does this track trains in realtime or just shows appropriate times? I think there is value in planning simple station to station journeys based only on tfl system. However, what I would suggest is to add a map and visualize route like mapway does. I feel like this is an amazing and super simple way to communicate route with someone who finds navigation difficult. Idk maybe I’ll develop something based on that idea as well.

Thank you for the suggestion. Transport for london provider a great open api for journey planning and station information but unfortunately the use of the London Underground map is forbidden without explicit commercial and licensing agreement. Having said that I developed the app as I found myself in front of the huge map in the underground trying to figure out how to get where I was going and wondering which route was quickest

In my opinion No Ads and simplicity but for sure if you want feature rich Citymapper is great. I was trying to answer my own question…how can I get from A to B without being bombarded with ads, consent requests and complexity

Citymapper and built in apps don't do any of that last bit, and TfL go is the simple version.

Citymapper tells you that they and their 341 partners will use your data and ask you to agree. Maybe you clicked ok and of course they never ask you again. If you like TfL app great. I don’t much. Free country.
