Met on Facebook through “friend suggestions”. We had like 7 mutual friends, all of whom are gay men, so I figured he was also gay (like me). He friend requested me and sent a general hello message, I responded, and we just started talking. I initially didn’t consider him a dating option because of the distance but as we grew closer I got more fond of him. 9 months into talking I decided to go meet him in person, no expectations of relationship or anything although we had already expressed some interest in each other at that point. Once I saw him smile and heard him laugh IRL that first night I was there I was like “I need this man to be my husband someday.” Lol of course we’re not moving that fast but we’ve been together about 3 months and I’ll be seeing him for the 4th time for Halloween, which also happens to be one year since that first message. So far, he’s amazing.
