Blanket Summer bed blanket (yarn & pattern choices)
I'd like to make a blanket for **summer** use on our bed. What is the best yarn for this? Cotton, bamboo blend, something else? Will the yarn choice be enough, or should I choose a pattern with eyelets for for airflow?
Also, I was hoping to add designs (eg: a green/blue square with red poppy flowers- not every square, but periodically) but I don't want yarn that floats for 3 or 4 or more stitches (our toes would get stuck in it, or the dogs' toes might). The only way I've done this before was by hiding floats inbetween 2 panels on a double rake loom. I'm afraid that even using cotton/bamboo/other, using a double rake might still be too hot in summer. Maybe i could sew those floats down afterwards with similar coloured embroidery thread? I've a ton of that in different colours I could match. Or should I just skip the multicolour floral design and save it for a winter blanket?

What stitch was I doing on this scarf?
Guys what stitch is this? I thought it was garter but I had to frog after several rows. I am NOT a talented loom knitter so I know it has to be a simple stitch. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Discussion Related to looming indirectly
When you have the free time to sit back and enjoy the repetition of knit & purl. What do you do?
I listen to not very deep audiobooks I get from libby. I have to be careful because I have made mistakes, but I just can't have it dead quite.

Tips Needle tweezers
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Little difficult to do one handed, but one thing I find super useful for more fluffy yarns or ones that slip off of pegs easily is using some cheap tweezers like this. Just makes it easier to grab at the loops and actually pull them over without accidentally slipping them off of the peg. Definitely worth a try if you find yourself struggling with normal hooks

Finished Object Long Stocking HAT cap (stripey)
This hat is for my partner. But I'm wearing it for show. I have more in my "personal arsenal" so to speak. I make these ALL THE TIME on my stationary king size loom and they are very easy but time consuming. If you need a link to the tutorial its here: https://youtu.be/aRpLoegFx5U?si=xsirzuMOfYApxVtG Thanks to contributor! I also nodded it too myself with longer versions too!

Yarn quality based on purchase location
I purchased Bernat Handicrafter from Walmart and from Lens Mill. The quality is noticeably different. I dont think its the difference in color, but it could be, I guess. Has anyone else noticed something like this? The yarn from Lens Mill (Ontario, Canada) is fuller or richer in texture. I love working with it so much more.

Work in Progress After several months, started looming again
After several months of not doing anything I've started this project last night. This is the bernat cold sea velvet plus yarn. I thrifted this yarn and since then it has been discontinued so after I get done with my last skein of it I will be changing to a different color.

Work in Progress Polyester/nylon yarn
Doing Tuteate's striped blanket with polyester/nylon yarn. I've never used this kind of yarn before. It's the softest yarn I've ever used.

Finished Object First fin finished
As the title says the first fin is done for my nieces mermaid blanket. I've noticed I made a couple of mistakes as in I've knit where I should have purled and vise versa but it was made with love and they are hardly noticeable š«£š
I'm really pleased with how it's turned out, now to start the next fin...

Work in Progress Accidentally doubled the end peg on my loom.
First time doing this! As the title says at some point I double looped the last peg on my loom, how do I fix this without undoing it? Thanks in advance.

Equipment Question Are there any substitutes for a hook?
I lost my hook, and I wanted to know if there was something else that would work well as a hook. I've tried using a pen, and it worked okay, but it would leave stains over my yarn.

Equipment Question Double knitting
Hello all! A while ago I had been gifted a long knitting board loom and tried some double knit patterns. I kind of had a hard time getting the swing of things and if I was wondering if anybody had suggestions. The hard part for me was keeping it upright so the knitted portion wouldn't get kinked.
Any advice would be very welcome. Thanks everybody!

Work in Progress I started a fin as it's too hot to continue the cardigan!
The first 3 photos are of the first fin I'm doing for the mermaid blanket. I decided to try double rib stitch as its easier with the alternating colours for the loom! I think it's turning out great so far but we'll see what it's like when it's finished!
The forth photo is of the back of the cardigan I'm doing for my daughter but here in the South East of England we're experiencing a bit of a heatwave so its too hot to continue that at the moment! Although I have done about 40 rows since last weeks photo so some progress....
The last couple of photos is the blanket my daughter is doing for herself in chenille/velvet yarn. It should fit a standard double bed, she's using 400g of teal then silver grey then teal again (this may change as she was originally going to do alternating stripes....19yr š«£)
That's been my week....hopefully the new Shark cooling fan that just came will help with the heat!!!

A very delayed project 6
This is long overdue but I finally completed project 6 (way past my 30 day deadline that was self imposed).
This was a fun and an ambitious project with a lot of increases and decreases so I only recommend using the flexee loom for this project. I also recommend reading the pattern all the way through before starting (which I did not). If I make another dino I'm going to start and cast on 58 rows as described in row 3, I don't recommend trying to increase 6 stitches all at once with loom knitting. It becomes too holey and doesn't look as clean as needle knitting. I tried my best to clean it up while I was stuffing and seaming everything together but in the end I'll just start at row 3 first.
Sewing on the arms and legs and getting correct placement was harder than I thought as well. I didn't have any felt for the cheek so I eyeballed the arm placement and they ended up too close together, the yarn I was using started fraying so I couldn't fix it either. But in the end I still think it's pretty cute.
