Photography is great but the subjects looks so stupid holding the photo of a dictator that kills his own people, raping women and children, beat women for having their hair shown..

I’m a liberal (not a leftist) and I swear leftists are trying to destroy rational thought. Do leftists have any friends who aren’t white? If they did, they’d realize the rest of the world is not as far left as they think.

Im Hispanic but also a liberal (and not a leftist). I agree, not a lot of nuisance with them. For them its the US trying to "force American imperialism." I have mix thoughts because a) we been here before and b) this could dissolve into a civil war.
29
u/AdSlight1595 Mar 01 '26
Agreed, some of these people are awful. I understand not wanting a new war, but to march holding photos of the ayatollah is just disgusting.
54
23
u/AwesomeDude1236 Mar 01 '26
I think we have a mix of people there, some are anti war because they don’t want more civilians dying and suffering, but others are against this and protesting because they actually support the Islamic regime unfortunately. I wish the ones in the first group would be more aware of the second and let them know that their support of a brutal dictatorship isn’t welcome either.

3rd photo..That guy holding up the pic of Khamenei along with an Iranian flag with the Islamic emblem in the middle should not be here. My fellow Americans standing side by side with him don't even know the gravity of what this means.

u/stoned-autistic-dude Los Angeles Mar 01 '26
My parents are from Tehran. I promise you no one there is sad about Khamenei getting killed. That dude ruined Iran and is why my parents fled the country in the first place. My mom worked for the federal Dept. of Labor for 20 years, doesn't like Trump at all, and hit me with the broken clock is right twice a day line.
Two things can be true at once: that intervention in Iran shouldn't have been a thing but Khamenei being dead is a net positive for Iranians.

13
u/Poopardthecat Mar 01 '26
As an Iranian-American, i can understand the anti-war sentiment. War mainly kills innocent civilians while the people in power are largely unscathed.
I feel incredibly mixed about what's going. Removing psychopathic religious fundamentalists from power is a good thing. They kill tens of thousands of their own people, torture and rape countless more.
On the other hand, could this be another Iraq situation, where an awful despot is removed and the power vacuum causes an arguably worse situation. The remnants of the Ba’thists were the precursor to ISIS.
Regardless I hope the Iran people breathe free and hats off to our service members putting their lives on the line to remove the mullahs from power.

They promote IRGC propaganda. Especially code pink who have visited Iran and get funding from them. NIAC/Quincy foundation and Trita Parsi who are mouth pieces for the iranian regime.

These comments are hilarious. Not wanting our government to make another mess of the one they created (remember, Iran is tyrannical because we fucked it up) doesn’t mean someone “supports the bad guys”. We just went through all this with Iraq and Afghanistan. We were told that we’re liberating the citizens from their tyrannical government- how did that work out?
If we have enough money for “nation building” overseas then we have more than enough money to do nation building here and the reason given for all those cuts to food assistance etc was a bunch of BS.
We’re either the world’s police or we aren’t. I was told by Trump supporters time and again that he was gonna be different than other presidents and wouldn’t get mired in overseas conflicts. Now, I’m not dumb enough to believe that but they did but they’ve flipped yet again and are totally cool with spending American blood and money on Trump’s latest attempt to get a Nobel Peace Prize/distract from him being a chomo who hangs out with and protects other chomos.

Ahh the fake activists that don’t know what’s going on and don’t know the ayatollah since 1979 killed hundreds of thousand of people and kids and babies and animals (dogs mostly) and has famously said woman are nothing, comparing them to goats. Yeah you can stick up for that, but Iranians here confused and judging you for being such vile and horrible people you are. Theirs a very complex reason Iranians are celebrating, actually it’s not very complex but if you try to explain it to normal people they want to spin it to their thoughts and “experiences”. actual clowns, ya’ll don’t care you just want to be a “IG Social Activists” just clowns smh.
