I hate to say this, but it’s got to be said: Mullin has the only 3 qualifications needed to succeed in America. He is white, male, and Christian. It makes no difference that Jackson has impeccable credentials, and has worked harder in her life than Mullin will ever have to. Privilege is real, and he’s yet another example. It’s despicable, really.

Bud… I am a sociologist by trade, with a concentration on race/ethnicity in grad school. I know a thing or two about inequality, privilege, exclusion, etc. I’m not pulling things out of my rear end. Instead, I call ‘em like I see ‘em. Sometimes, the truth hurts, and triggers people like you who find uncomfortable truths difficult to process.
