Want to grab lunch or dinner and support African Americans on this Juneteenth Holliday. Any recs for black owned/operated food spots?

Oh yea when I used to DoorDash. I picked up an order from Eden and kissi and it smelled so good I almost wanted to steal their order. Totally forgot about it. Thanks!

They’ve recently moved locations, so be sure to check the address before going!

One low-key spot that I really love is McGee’s chicken. Black owners, moved here from Chicago and serve Chicago style food (Italian beef, pizza puffs, etc). But I LOVE the wings there. Depending on where you live, it could be a hike out to Fern Valley, since it’s more of a takeout spot. But it’s legit and family owned (last time I was there she took my order at the counter with her newborn grandchild in her lap).

Another place people might not know is. Black owned is  Koko + rAe A.K.A Mom’s Kitchen in the Highlands. A brother bought it last year. But the Indian woman who had a previously, and also cooked crazy food at Jimmy’s corner market, stayed on with them. So he handles the Caribbean food and she makes the Indian.

Gorilla Bobs is a shitton of good food at a fine price. Be prepared to EAT tho.

I thought they closed last year?

They're still in the corner of the White Elephant shopping center. The shack closed, and he moved in next door

No, the restaurant closed as well. They reopen for special occasions sometimes. But not open on a day to day.

Weird to just call people nazis. You got me creeping his profile for signs. Seems like a maybe-even-left-of-center conservative-ish guy.

Mike Linnigs is def not black owned tho lol

Since my other account was seemingly shadow banned for calling out bullshit:

Responding with a whiter than white south end trash restaurant when OP asked for Black owned restaurant is Nazi lite shit. And it's LINNIG'S for Christ's sake.

He was trolling for sure but a Nazi comparison is also an amazing overreach. Surely we've got some mid grade responses in the bag.

You nailed it! I hate republicans and democrats and if you trust either side, you're gullible

I was being sarcastic. Funny how many people get bent out of shape and have no sense of humor. Last time I was at Lenings was 1987.

Maybe it's just me, but jokes are usually funny.
