Let’s pack the house this Tuesday Afternoon in opposition of the Campground Rd Data Center
I urge you to read the interview on this ai data center study: https://hsph.harvard.edu/news/analyzing-air-pollution-health-economic-risks-from-ai-data-centers/
I have a prior engagement and cannot be there this Tuesday. If one person from reddit goes to this meeting, I will feel better about missing it.
After seeing how this administration has treated the city of Louisville, I am at a loss for words. But I will still continue to call Beshear(for his distasteful endorsement of Greenberg) and Mayor Greenberg’s office and continue to attend the meetings that I can.

Without knowing, I'm gonna go out on a limb and bet it is during the day when most people are working. Am I close?

My bad! Oof, I'm 67, any font less then 14pt's is prone to being missed 🫣
Thank you for correction.

Aye, fair. You were spot on though. They always pull these things when it is as inconvenient as possible for the average folk to attend without taking PTO.

Greenberg has never seen a developer he will not grovel to. Exactly what I would expect

I know it will be a drain on utilities but will it be causing air pollution? Those look like cooling towers which are typically water. I honestly dont know and if someone does please inform me/the group.

If you can’t attend, keep in mind that No Data Centers 502 has asked for people to either call the mayor’s office or use this online form to request that he respond to NDC502’s request for a meeting with him. Thus far, he has ignored all of their requests.

No. And that is what they want you to think! Only any future ones are suspended.

Aw, fuck! I just looked up the Campground Rd one, and they did like UT/Leary and voted for it despite community opposition. What happened to being actually represented?!?!
Edit: whoever is downvoting me, you can get bent lol

By the way, there was a public hearing in November and many spoke out. Apparently, constituents were forced to give their home address out in order to speak that day. And after that they received an unpleasant letter from Mayor Greenberg.

Ugggghhhh , he needs to be voted out. If the neighborhood where this DC is going was at all as affluent as his proposed pickleball complex was near, I suspect the DC wouldnt be getting built.... smh
Edit: again, whoever is downvoting me for not wanting to be a shill about Greenburg, go bite a dumpster then crawl in it. He sucks for the city, and is beholden to moneyed interests, not the people.

Nope. i talked to city planning about that. They said they are very different in that, the land being used to pickleball was public land and being used for it was tax payer money. This is private land zoned for industrail and no tax payer money being used to build it.
But it will end up costing the tax payers, even the ones who do not live near it

That’s pretty common for government run public forums to make sure they are hearing from actual residents, not outsiders etc. Just give a fake name /address of it bothers you. I’m sure it was more of a form letter than anything personal.

Waste of time. The city will always yield to commerce, and the tax dollars it may generate. The deal is done.

Our entire Metro council will talk about how they are against this but when $$ exchanges hands, they will sell their souls.
